Are you looking exclusively for a
9mm version, or the .40S&W version as well?
Yup I’ve had 2 of them. Both of them had the receivers separate and the hammer locked up.
Besides that they are absolutely awe full to shoot and theres no good way to mount optics.
The folding feature is cool until you realize it’s actually pretty useless. What good does a gun do you if its folded and in a bag?

A QD raised mount & high-rings will put you right with optics on the Gen 2. Easy-peasy.

I'm curious..... were you able to determine what caused the receivers to separate? Did the screws fall out or did both of your S2K's blow up?
The folding design seems to be aimed at making it more compact for storage, you need to unfold it and remove it from the bag in order to shoot it as you point out.
I'm not sure why Keltec doesn't raise the sights up 1/4" to help with cheek comfort when shooting irons.... that small and simple improvement plus making one out of metal similar to their original prototype would be pretty nice even if it did cost more.
My gen2 has run very well, but nothing but brass cased and standard pressure loads. The sights...well they suck, but no other platform does what this can do so i tolerate them.
What can it do that others can't? Be an iffy POS?

Maybe you have had a bad experience. Maybe you have an unwarranted POS attitude.
The ability to share mags with my pistol in a platform that folds in a very compact manner while putting a smile on my face is what it does that others cannot. That is plenty for me.
