I have seen several private sales at $1200 or worse. I would never buy a used Keltec, especially after my last brand new S2K blew itself in two after 4 rounds.

Yup I’ve had 2 of them. Both of them had the receivers separate and the hammer locked up.

Besides that they are absolutely awe full to shoot and theres no good way to mount optics.

The folding feature is cool until you realize it’s actually pretty useless. What good does a gun do you if its folded and in a bag?

A QD raised mount & high-rings will put you right with optics on the Gen 2. Easy-peasy.

I'm curious..... were you able to determine what caused the receivers to separate? Did the screws fall out or did both of your S2K's blow up?

The folding design seems to be aimed at making it more compact for storage, you need to unfold it and remove it from the bag in order to shoot it as you point out.

I'm not sure why Keltec doesn't raise the sights up 1/4" to help with cheek comfort when shooting irons.... that small and simple improvement plus making one out of metal similar to their original prototype would be pretty nice even if it did cost more.

I've shot them with an off set 45 degree rail section and red dot and that works nicely and you can still fold the gun without removing the optic.

No I’m not sure why the receivers separated. Nothing physically broke. There’s enough slop in the two piece receiver and not enough screws to hold it. The hammer jumps out of its catch pin and gets stuck. Once this happens the bolt is totally jammed and requires a lot of dissembling to remedy.

Also I don’t think its related to the receiver issue but the safety button would get slightly out of position and not allow the trigger to function. This happened during firing. I wonder if the safety blocking the trigger was the cause of the hammer receiver issue?

I wanted one of these for the longest time... then I got one. Kept it for one day, didn't shoot it and sold it immediately. SUPER flimsy and plasticky. Glad I did sell it too, as I've seen MANY of them fail at DSSMatch events. IMHO you're FAR better off with a takedown PC9 if you want a PCC that can fit in a bag.

Maybe you have had a bad experience. Maybe you have an unwarranted POS attitude.
The ability to share mags with my pistol in a platform that folds in a very compact manner while putting a smile on my face is what it does that others cannot. That is plenty for me.

I was being a bit of an ass of course, sorry. I have really tried to love this gun, 3 Gen 1 and 2 Gen 2 rifles throughout the years, I gave up. After my gun (NOT part of their recall) failed catastrophically I gave up on Keltec completey. Their guns are interesting but quality is lacking.

I sort of figured that is what you meant. Just odd because there are at least three other takedown guns that take common pistol mags. I would consider all of them better than the S2K.

B, I understand. We are a sum of our experiences. Yours have not been favourable; mine have been. Along with 6 friends and theirs. I am happy to also own a ruger pcc. The PCC is a superior platform for build quality and feel-of that i would not argue. The other takedowns may also be of superior quality but i cannot speak to them. In my pack, i do not believe there is better than the sub2k, however. The other options not only require special attention to their storage as the halves would bang into each other, but they require alignment and some finer motor skills to put into action. The sub2k’s pivot works way better for me.
Ktec can surely get better but as i stated above, imo, my sub2k has a place in my life, pack and trailer.
