I just managed to score a rifle that I have been hoping to find.

I had one of these many years [decades?] ago, and in a foolish
moment of weakness, I sold it to a friend. [who still has it and has
rejected my offers to buy it back numerous times]

The rifle? A Ruger #1 AB chambered in 7x57. Clean 22' barrel, semi-
beavertail forend. Scope rings included.
These are reasonably scarce, and most who have one tend to keep it.

This model was chambered only in 223, 7x57, 270 and 30-06 and had
a very short production run.

A fellow gunnut made a decision to sell one of 2 desirable 7x57 [275 Rigby]
Ruger #1's, and I got lucky. So it is on it's way to me. :) :) Dave

I saw the rifle in the EE and thought of you... I remember that you mentioned many times that you regretted selling yours. I prefer the standard "A" model over the "AB." I like the AH forend and the rifle sights. Congrats on finding your rifle.

Those are cool.

I really like the 303 British one too. Buddy had two and I foolishly didn't buy one from him.

Congrats Eagleye! I saw that rifle posted and could not remember where. I thought maybe ####### or Townpost, probably on EE.

Nice catch Dave .... Those Ruger #1s are nice. The rare ones are very cool.

There is something very gratifying in finding an older out-of-production gun that you have been looking for for some time. I looked for an older M700 Varmint in 222 for a few years. One Sunday morning one appeared on the EE in very nice condition and at a fair price plus shipping. The good news it that the seller is my hunting pard who lives 10min from here so I saved the shipping. He was selling it for the widow of a local gun owner who had some very nice stuff. The extra bonus is that it's an early 70s vintage that is in excellent condition, bedded with a tuned trigger. Very pleased with that find. :)

A post without Pictures is Nothing!!¡!!!!¡

Looking forward to seeing it. It will likely bring up some memories of the AB in .223 that was foolishly sold in the early 90s. It had the nicest wood of any No1 I’ve ever owned:(

Sweet good for you!! There as been a few rifle on the EE that I wanted... but timing was not right....
