Opps, missed one. From a site member I picked up another 300 WM a while back in a Weatherby Vanguard S2 Blaze-X.300 PRC........what the 300 WSM hopes to be when it grows up and what the 300 Win Mag wishes it was.....but of your two choices 300 WIN MAG !

Just buy a 300H&H. You're kinda old school anyways.
I think of the 300H&H as an 30-06 (+P), which really isn't a bad place to be.
If I was looking for a standard action 300 magnum these days I would want a 300 PRC, although obviously this isn't chambered by as many gun makers as a 300 WM yet. Also, if you are the type of person that subscribes to the "use a common cartridge so you can buy it at rural gas stations because I'm foolish and forget my ammunition at home" theory then the 300WM is going to be a better choice. Short action rifle I would go for the 300 WSM, obviously. There is no real difference in performance on animals between the WM and WSM.
Depends what rifle you are looking at, really.

Agree... it makes sense for Phil to rock the H&H.
My choice is 300 PRC over either.
true. and i forgot we had a 300hh as well and it shot well with the old 220 grains silvertip. i killed a red deer with it and my wife killed her first black bear in quebec with it. i liked the form of the brass. never attracted in 375hh but in 300hh yes. another option.
