Whatever the police as a whole chooses to enforce becomes law in practice. In Sweden most things are up to the individual administrator, and if they don't like whatever you're trying to do, better luck next time. There is no standard and no consistency. Like medvedqc said, European legislation is complex to the umpteenth degree.

I have to agree for the average guy who wants to get into single shot rifles the Ruger no 1 and the Browning Highwalls etc though not cheap they represent good quality guns for the money.Then if you get the single shot bug your only confined by your wallet or your wife lol
 
Sako and Tikka. Not the rifles themselves I own a Tikka T3X. What is so overrated is when someone says, "feel how smooth this action is!" They're not smooth they're sloppy. Because they're so sloppy and loose, they give the false perception that they're smooth. You know what is smooth? A Sauer 202 or a Remington 600 Mohawk. Their bolts are fitted very tight but they feel like glass when operating.
 
Remington 700. I can't understand how so many revere this POS! I've had one Model 700 that worked satisfactorily but several other Model 700 rifles with the following faults:
horrible gritty triggers, mis-aligned barrel, scope mount holes drilled off centre, bolt stop that stuck so the bolt falls out, chamber throat too short and another that was too long, badly fitted walnut stock, flimsy plastic stock, Safety that mal functioned, feeding problems, sights cocked a few degrees off top dead centre, and badly machined locking lug recess.
No wonder there is such an extensive list of after market parts and problem fixes for them. And no mystery why they went bankrupt.
No more Remington rifles for me.

That’s right the tikka bolts are all pebbly and you can feel the texture as you run them back and forth. Also if you just have the iron sights and no optic on the receiver it rings like a cowbell at the bolt manipulation where my bdl runs smooth and only clicks nicely at either end of the bolt travel. Love my tikkas

I've never found them to be stiff and cheap feeling. I do think they could stand to have the walnut fitted better. Slightly proud is fine, but mine is slightly more proud on one side than the other, it could definitely be better. They do have a pretty slow lock time as well, not a huge issue, but noticeable.

Ultimately they are a great value, considering their competition runs from about 5k to 25k to start. I love mine.

Edit: I also hate the stock safety. I replaced mine with a TROP very quickly.

Most handy, slick, fast operating, high capacity hunting rifle, created in 19th century in the age of black powder yet being strong enough to go smokeless. Lighter than most modern rifles, available takedown models, array of calibers.

Overrated? What did you expect to Winchester 94 to be "overrated", a 2lbs rail gun with unlimited ammo?
 
Some people buy the wrong gun for the wrong purpose and blame the gun.Like buying a 40 pound rifle and complaining it s not a good hunting rifle because it s too heavy to carry

Usually they turn around and say "hunting is overrated, but this 40 pound artillery piece is fine"
 
The Tavor

It felt very unnatural and awkward, like I was shooting a rear heavy 2x6, and I found the trigger and other ergonomics pretty terrible. Maybe I just needed 5 years of training to get me used to its peculiarities?

I'm also not hugely impressed with 73 Winchesters. I figured that out of the box it would be a lot smoother and faster than my out of the box 92 Winchester, but it wasn't. I suppose if you're shooting bleeding edge cowboy action times with a race gun then it's the way to go, but for the average Joe, a model 92 is just fine.

When you consider a marlin can do everything a winchester can, can easily be scoped and costs half of a winchester, that's my thoughts that it is over rated

Winchesters tend to be almost a pound lighter from the get go. If I desire a slinged and scoped rifle of this weight why settle for a 30-30 Marlin? Get a 270 instead.

Edit: Besides who wants to deal with the Micro Groove sillyness?? Belongs in 22 LR. Apparently Marlin switched in recent years to Ballard rifling once again in the 30-30.
Just as they used to do back in the day & Winchester never deviated from.
