British Columbia is the most beautiful province in Canada. Did a multitude of days camping and fishing in the East Kootenay's. Small and large mouth bass fishing is excellent, and melt in your mouth fillets! Lower mainland (Vancouver/Victoria) is the exception of the province, the rest is gorgeous with exceptionally nice people. I believe that B.C. and Alberta are tied for the best provinces to hunt in Canada.

Something like that. The fishing wasn't for me, primarily for the kids; I was their guide, cleaner and cook. I haven't been there for about 4 to 5 years, however I hear the fishing is still great, my daughter and her family have lease land there for camping!

Newfoundland is the best 'cause the population per square mile is the least. And let's not get started on gang wars!:rolleyes:
 
I've hunted both the Yukon and NFLD. I would not put NFLD too far behind the Yukon for a cool place to live. I could be quite happy there.

All this "magical" crap about 6.5CM is absolute nonsense. 6.5CM cannot compete with many existing hunting cartridges at long range with such a low energy and long range is the only area its slightly better ballistics would matter. Under 300 yards it has less power than 308 and 7-08 and the difference in ballistics is negligible.

For the pure target shooting, it is very mediocre and won't give you any advantage

It is same the performance as 260 rem was for any REASONABLE PURPOSE you might want to use it for. In fact for practical hunting 7-08 or 308 would be better at close ranges. And going further needs way too much energy you can't get out of 6.5CM. 260 Rem was a fad for 5-7 years and it didn't last. 6.5CM is essential the same fad with a bigger marketing budget and stronger push. If 6.5CM didn't exist - no one would notice.

Like I said. It's up to the individual to decide if the improvements are of interest to them.

I stood on a floating bog just last year, among the first native carnivorous plants I've ever seen. Sarracenia I believe they were, beautiful spot surrounded by tall aspens fluttering in the soft September breeze.

I was also carrying a 300win which I wouldn't place on the over rated list. More than needed that is certain.

Yup ! Gotta agree with you Gary ! The only one i HATE is the 270 WIN because every GOOF :stirthepot2: who has one thinks its the BEST cartridge there is ! :onCrack: LOL RJ

Non 270 Win hunters are jealous!
(Or they might be hunting under conditions where 270 Win is not a great choice)

I shoot a lot and prefer 308 Win over 270 Win because of ammo cost, barrel life and accuracy.
That being said, a 270 Win is better in my part of Canada if you hunt and shot 10 rounds a year.
