Pls Remove

Awesome job, looks great. Went with the Zhukov myself, purely for looks though, not mounting anything to it. Tried tHe pistol grip but didn't like the grip angle so I went the mag pul route.

Ty TH, the Zhukov has its benefits. Curious as to how easy or difficult is it to install/remove? The grip angle is a love hate thing for sure(What Grip?) I was going to go the Magpul route as well but that type of set-up doesn't work for me at all (physical), I also wanted a setup that could fold.

Either way, the great thing is we both have one of the finest SG available.

Agreed, and same colour. The Zhukov is not that hard to instal at all, but not as easy as stock either. Just threw a standard AR grip on to try it out, also tried an ergo but didn't like either.

That's why I asked there are so many grips/angles out there its always good to ask what others are using so I wanted to get your use/take, Ty. I'm presently running a ERGO Tactical Deluxe, and enjoy it over the standard ERGO model. Although something in-between would be perfect. Those standard AR grips are like a block of lego :)

Ha ha, yes those standard AR grips are like a block of lego, except not near as lethal if stepped on. If i can track down a grip with a steeper grip angle, as the grips I tried put my trigger finger at what felt to me, at an unnatural angle, I might give the pistol grip another go, adding the folding adapter also.

You'll find that you can drive the gun much more positively if you move that AFG farther forward. I have gorilla arms and as a result can positionit as far forward as you have rail space on your example...

I have fairly long limbs as well, with the adjustable stock and ability to change LOP this setup mitigates the need to over extend the trailing arm too far forward from improper fit of your SG. From your description (Gorilla Arns) I bet if you put all the LOP extenders on your buttstock and then check your LOP with the butt stock in the bend of your arm that your Trigger finger is overshooting the trigger.

I don't like when your hands are too far from your body less (control+power) I know alot of competitors are using this technique claiming more control but physics 101 would tend to disagree, and I like to drive the SG forward through my stance. Shotgun fit is key and an important step in making any SG work properly and efficiently as possible for the end user, and the OEM setup was not working for me.

One thing is certain this is a fantastic SG to start any build and we're in that company.

When you say "steeper" do you mean closer to "0" angle?

I wish we had more FA shows like TACCOM here in Canada where you could go see and try manufacturers products instead of guessing.

Please post up your builds everyone, It's always great to see and learn from other people's ideas and creations. That's what inspired me. :)

I guess i find the grip as it is now too shallow/straight up, would need more angled to feel proper for me. And it was your build and your youtube video that did steer me in this direction and cost me all kinds of money, thanks! lol

Roger that, I think the reason that I don't really notice the nuances between a pistol grip set up and a traditional one is I've only owned a SG setup that way. Blame the handicapped guy! :) Just kidding.

Great looking build man. I especially like how you modded the stock handguard. As much as I like the Zhukov guard, it does feel flimsy at certain points. Did you have to alter the lower part of the sight at all to get that screw through the crom? How does it shoot with the stock folded too?

"Straight" pistol grips are a good thing if you shoot squared up, not so much otherwise.

Nice!!!

No "like" button here eh?

Ty Hypoxia, the handguard was not difficult at all in research or development everything was all basically available, where I got real "lucky" was on the distance available between the fore-end (inside bottom) and the bottom of the spring assembly/blink system. That reminds me I took a file "lightly" to the bottom of the plastic housing that surrounds the spring return (flattened) the "circle" that faces the inside of the handguard to also aid in clearance. It works as good as OEM, with the slightest pull outward at the lower part of the fore-end while removing it.

My apologies(I will add), In relation to your question on the front screw you need to (put it into the CROM first) then mount your RDO, use a ball end Allen if you have if not regular Allen will work just as well. I have not had the opportunity to operate the SG w it folded.

Agreed, squared up and prone. I would still like to try it just to get a feel, think I'll check the EE. :)

In spite of my arm length I have Casey cut all of my shotguns to 12.75" - maybe why I see that AFG as too close to the receiver. Just like every shotgun barrel is a story unto itself, so is every shotgunner...
