How many magazines do you guys typically have for your pistols?

Colt Delta Elite = 10 mags

Glock 20 = 6 mags

Glock 29 = 3 mag's I also have 2 Scherer spacers that allows me to use 2 of the G20 mags

Glock 23 = 2 mags but looking for a 3rd

I always have two loaded with "emergency rounds". but I like to have 10 mags for anygun that takes them. cept my TRG22, I don't need 10 mags for it.that would be a bit pricey.

My Beretta came with two. Wholesale sells Beretta magazines for $60.

Do guys like to charge their mags before going to the range?

Five mags per pistol. Ebay is your friend for cheap mags, I usually pay ~$15 for factory mags (Beretta, Browning, etc). I charge mine before I go and at the range, after I empty them the first time ;) Cheers

i go with odd numbers starting with at least 3, then 5, then 7.

that was from the old old days when mag pouch were leather and always was a double pouch.. single pouches were almost the same price, and rarely saw one at the range then

so 1 in the gun, and pairs from there

like to buy extras, especially if they are hard to fine.

there are never enough 1911 mags, new ones nowadays don't have the usual problems from what the ones i learn with, but i still buy and hoard this mag type.

last thought, no matter how many you get, and how good they are, you have to test use each and every one on a rotation/regular basis, to make sure they keep on working and ticking. if at any time a mag does not work consistently, you should mark it immediately with a permanent marker, or stick a label on the bottom, until such time the mag functions 100 percent again. if the mag is a piece of crap, no matter the price, hammer it really useless, and throw it away. not the quantity, but the quality that counts.

Are we talking about loaded or unloaded magazine

Unfortunatly these are not mine :( our government will not trust me with a UZI...

I have one in the gun, five on the rig and two spares in my bag for each caliber I shoot. Had three OEM mags fly apart when they hit the gound during reloads in one course of fire. Embarrasing and time consuming to try to fix them before the next course.

For all my pistols & revolvers; 4 mags or speedloaders is the bare minimum... with 6 to 8 being the ideal amount. From my experience, 10 mags is the max. More than 10, it's start to be a bit too much. Ex: I currently have 16 mags for my AR15, it's cumbersome to carry, and it's easy to forget one or two at a range or competition, when you have so much lying around.
