the reason i brought up sks-d cos i know you love them, i dont love them but i dont hate them either. i just collected them, i had 4 at one point.
anyways. bcos of a few creative Americans who wanted to solve an over supply of sks in the US and who dare to think outside the box. they bubbaed a few standard sks and because of them, your beloved sks-d was born. ofcos they were at first chastised. do you see the irony?

Lever Arms used to sell brand new Chinese SKS D for about $90. I bought a few and they all worked fine. So did the Chinese "regular" SKS that sold for $75.
 
Interesting. I like the top sten version more, but both are interesting. Sks are still cheap and plentiful enough to play around with and modify.
 
It's like a modern art masterpiece, which means it looks like dogs balls and is probably worth nothing.
Maybe you can find some billionaire pervert collector to buy it for a few million, like those modern art pieces?
 
From that metal buttock SKS and you know your metal work also that reminds me of a last ditch AK lol, wish I had a spare SKS to play with the stock of like that lol

your SkSten looks interesting. i hate duckbill so i see you put a band around the spectre ball mag adapter, was it not stable with the factory screw?

every thread in red rifles that I post in, you and a couple others always seem to want to troll me over the SKS-D LOL admit it.... it's true.
For the record, I do not love the SKS at all...... I see it as a utility firearm and nothing more. I do not take them out for range days very often. I don't hunt with them or see a whole lot of point in spending money or much time in customizing them unless it is to improve the rifle for utility means. I have performed all the necessary mods to improve the trigger and a couple other little things. I am making a custom stock just because I need a project or i get bored fast.
But no..... I do not love the sks-d or any other model of the sks.
I love the ruger m77 mkII..... I love the lee enfield no 1 mkIII...... I love the colt 1911..... I love and miss the Bren gun..... but no love for the sks.... I own them for what they are. utility firearms that will go bang every time I need them too should the need arise.

I think that looks pretty decent. That Choate stock seems like a waaay better stock then the more common ATi Fiberforce ones.

No, unfortunately it flopped around in the breeze like a pecker in Saskatoon.
I am not sure if it's all of them or the one I got, as it was second hand. With the way they are mounted I don't see how they wouldn't work loose or have play.
Honestly your not much further behind puting a pin through the stock for the same effect.
