M10X should I buy?? Feedback from current owners please.

The rifle we tested and I am still testing had some teething issues also but nothing major. We bought it from our local gun store so no special guns here. M+M did send us the new "enhanced" bolt and told us they are working on a few more things for Canadian customers during our research for the video series. This is our sample of one and our experiences with it. As mentioned before, check out the facebook group for people who had issues and how to remedy those. The folks from M+M post there too and they seem to be very helpful to people needing anything repaired or replaced. I have not personally had any warranty issues so this is just what I am reading.

and the 1000 round update. (there is a 500 round update with the bolt it shipped with also)

Like a lot of guys here I was kind of interested in them at first, until M&M shafted the supplier who worked on getting them registered here with the rcmp and went with a different group and then jacked the price by claiming they were suddenly DMR rifles, or did I remember that wrong ?

The more commonly reported 4moa is the main turn off for me when it comes to these rifles.... owners of the "short handguard" models like Black Bear Outdoors have reported and demonstrated far better accuracy. However i really wish u shot 5 shot groups for ur accuracy test to better seal the consistency. My SKS rifles will sometimes shoot 1-2moa 3 shot groups as well.

Tbf 7.62x39 180 uppers get better than 4MOA so why bother droping $2k on the rifle then extra $ on mags just to get a 4MOA gat without in country support?

5 shots are the absolute minimum for me. You get 66.6% more information from a 5 shot group than a 3 shot group.

This ^, also the reason why many of us no longer pre-order.

One additional factor is that TIs optic rail Mount will finally ready within two weeks. Combine that with their new slant break, and their free shipping and drum mag sale, the Type 81 becomes an even better alternative.

Kodiak just started shipping 7.62x39 mm WKs to compete against the MCR. If you request one built with the steel upper, it will come with a non-screw in charging handle, which should not break. You can get an adjustable gas block for the WK and MCR to tune the gas system for minimum stress with your ammo of choice.

Finally, the new firearm in town, the J180, has just begun its shipping journey from Jard to its Canadian distributor, Sylvestre. You can use the build kit in concert with AR parts to make a novel firearm that impinges an AR180 style recoil system with direct gas impingement. One of bolt faces available with the kit supports 7.62x39 mm.

That's only for the lmg which is way to heavy even with bipod removed to be practical so this point is moot

No you’re not crazy.

Those came announced at a price by Wanstall then it disappeared and reappeared with a new "improved" price with DMR features explained to us…

Here is more details about the story for those who missed it or have a short memory.

Shady business is why you don’t see much of them around.

My 0.02$

How is this going? Two more weeks?

The LMG with everything on it is 10.14 pounds, 1 pound heavier then an M14, hell I've carried Garands all day that weighed that.
Amazing seeing generations go from carrying those rifles all day every day, to it just being to much for a walk in the woods.

Yup. I hunt with a tavor 7 and get to hear other whine about the weight all the time! They're not even carrying the rifle, I am!
Its balanced well, shoots like a laser and comfy as hell. Thats all I care about.

I just bought one M10X-Z short handguard. Shoots fine, some feeding issues with surplus ammo, pretty accurate compare to my SKS (Duh...)

Just a note the new scope mount for the Type 81 does work with the rifle version, not just the LMG. You can also mod an AK Zhukov folding stock and M-LOK handguard to fit the Type 81 and give it a more black rifle look.
