Is it me or is the bullet on the bottom a smaller diameter ? holey cow . if I'm correct that looks like old stock because of the box . in that case you may have no recourse . I'd still forward a photo of that to Federal's quality control department . and may I ask why did you pull those ? bad accuracy ? or did the ammo get damp and you were going to reload them ? they look like some old style of ballistic tip ammo . tell me if I'm correct . and yes I would forward some photos to Federal . maybe they will mail you a coupon for some ammo .

Theyre both 30 caliber. Different profile different boattail angle.
These arent pulled bullets. I was loading them. They are the new tipped trophy bonded bear claws

It's almost certainly just a matter of a couple bullets being caught up in the feeding/packaging side of things that got missed when the tooling was changed from one design to the next.

Should be easy to pick out an oddball during the loading process if you aren't using too automated of a progressive system. A little irritating when they are over $1 each.

is it an optical illusion in the pic in your hand that the one on the bottom in the pic looks like a different and smaller diameter?
I just bought a box of federal premium 7mm rem mag in that same box but with the partition bullet and it is brand new stock from the distributor so I imagine yours is not an old box either.
Looking closely they look to have a slightly different tip profile with one being rounded out a bit. I wonder if it's just old vs new bullets at the factory ?
I also have 2 boxes of the ammo you have in 7mm rem mag trophy bonded and a couple boxes of bear claws. I have to keep them separate as they look nearly identical with the nickel plating and same color tips. Not sure if the bear claws were from federal premium as well.

LOL I just realized thru google that my bullets are the same just federal phased out the bear claw name and just calls them trophy bonded....... interesting

I can’t help any but I will say those are my favourite bullets I’ve ever hunted with bar none. I shoot them in 165 since I use .308 but they have dropped moose mulies white tail and bears in their tracks ! Minimal meat loss and devastating wound Chanel’s. The one bullet I recovered was a perfect mushroom

They do have a different shape and taper.

I bought several boxes to load in my 300wm but i sold that rifle and had the bullets left so i thought id try them in 308. They do take up alot of case space.

Thanks. Needs a good vacuum. Ive been doing some cement work in the gun room.

I'd contact the makers of those bullets and send them a photo . you never know . question your not a Gravel hauler are you ? someone with a similar handle used to haul stone to our yard . just asking .

I always found a very poor inconsistency in federal ammunition it was either corroded or shiny or half and half or bulged or some random crap, always got my money back and I pulled the bullets
