Bushnell Elite scopes?

Ive owned a Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16 & 1-6.5 along with an Elite Tactical 1-6.5. All were made in Japan and very nice optics.

I currently own an Elite tactical SMRS 1-8.5 and an Elite Tactical ERS 6-24. Both of which are very well made and clear. Also made in Japan.

Anything in the Elite 6500 or Elite Tactical series in a WIN in my books.

Looking around there are bushnell elite 4x 4500 scope. Are those still made in japan? Or are the new elite scope being made elsewhere?

Would be good to know - ones that I have are apparently a follow on from Bausch and Lamb - BL - stamped as such and say "Japan". Not sure old dude like me could be convinced that a sticker authenticates that it is made in Japan, versus made in that "C" place or the "K" place and then somebody stuck on a sticker or wrote some advertising blurb ...

I have (and have had) lots of the Bushnell Elite Tactical scopes (1-8.5SMRS, 3.5-21 HDMR2, 4.5-27 XRS2, 3-12 LRTSi, 4.5-18 LRTS) and they are all great scopes, made in Japan and super tough.

The Elite 3200's were made in Japan, I got one kicking on a rifle made in Japan stamped right on it, my eyes can't tell the difference between it and my Leupolds.

I guess from Post #12, that is not completely correct, is it...

All of the "older" Elite series were made in Japan. I believe the 4500 4x series in a new offering from Bushnell and those as stated are not made in Japan. Bushnell unfortunately has some of the worst marketing in modern history. The fact that they would brand a new scope with the Elite name, yet manufacture it in Korea is baffling to me. LOL

Yeah - hard to keep track any more - I think Vista Outdoors now owns Bushnell. And Browning Optics, and Simmons, and Tasco. And probably some more brands. At least they own those brand names, I think. I am sure they market whatever model names they can come up with - made wherever - so not like a difference, very much, any more - likely is all about cost to produce versus what it can sell at...

I am old enough to remember when "Made in Japan" was pretty much looked down on like "Made in China / Korea" is now - was sure not viewed as a sign of "quality" - maybe goes to show how much we were / are influenced by advertising and not by actual facts. Tasco, for example, even more convoluted - Tanross Company was in Florida - never owned a factory - never made a thing themselves - would accept orders and have stuff made to specs that buyer wanted - jobbers, contractors, assemblers - often in Japan. As result, some Tasco scopes are / were extremely high end, and some are/were abject crap - was whatever the wholesaler buyer specified for price and for components.

I have beaten the hell out of a Bushnell Elite tactical 1-6.5

Always been a great scope...though it wasn't exactly cheap when I bought it
