Pretty sure they will come faster than expected since this batch is sold out.

Meanwhile the scalpers are offering them for $2,100 on the EE, oh yeah well.
.

good point, it might speed up the next shipment but last year they said they dont like mailing in december during xmas so i think it will be in the new year.

btw, did you see how many views the WTS ad on EE got? 230 in 6 hrs. while the WTB got only 35 in 3 days. still so much interest to buy.

Can you imagine the hate posts if TI raised the price to 2k for these ? Yet somehow EE price is acceptable at 2k because why ? People be like well it's their right to set the price they want but these same people would be full out Karen posting if TI did it lol

TI initially mentioned they would be $1,400. At that price, sales would have been slower, much slower. There is a sweet spot when people get excited.

I remember when they first came out, I bought one but they were sitting forever for $999. I even saw a few on the EE for weeks. One I remember was a folder with front rail and 8 magazines, sold for $800 with 2 bump ups on the EE.

But back then you could buy a M14 Norinco for $500 or 600, lol. And the best of the bunch were the VZ58. I wonder how the type 81 would fare if the VZ would not be prohibited.

At this point if you buy from a scalper you're an idiot. We seen tons of resales from "last shipment LMG" while a couple months ago retailers where selling them at discount price. There will be more unless you have money pouring out your *** ****

Got the feedback from TI, the only model with LH safety is the T81 SE Fixed Stock.

That's not what was indicated on the website, and I specifically ordered a LH safety folder instead of the optics ready for that exact reason. I hope TI is prepared to send out some LH safeties if that's true...

It looks like they copied and pasted that entire type 81 description to all the type 81's, so you are right about what the description said. But the pictures show it as being right hand. If you want a left hand safety, I would be willing to trade if you want. I can take the left hand safety off one of my older type 81's.

Will be lots of left hand safeties floating around the market soon with all the rail sales. I even have 2 on hand

Here is a the reply from TI, so the new safety is for competition use.

"The safety on the right is preferred by right handed users, it is easier to reach and manipulate with the index finger while doing magazine changes –this was a common request from action shooters during previous imports that we make this change. This was an intentional change over the standard design to better suit the rifle for competition use. All models have right hand safety, the only reason the fixed stock (non OR) doesn’t was that we wanted to keep one model that looks like the original design for collectors."

I'm right hand but prefer the safety on the left to actuate with the right hand thumb, I don't think I am unique in this regard? do ppl really like it on the right that much more?

Are we sure it's not a DMR safety? :d

are there that many competition shooters among us to influence a drastic change like that? i will be switching it right back or sell the rifle.
