The Freedom Ordnance FX-9 OWNERS thread.

According to Canada Post, I get to join this illustrious club next week! Looks like I have a lot of reading and catching up to do in this thread!

FYI word on the street is that Firearms Outlet Canada and Wolverine Supplies are both getting some shipped in, so there may be more n00bs (to this gun) like me soon!

So is Select Shooting Supplies.

I have reviewed most of the 54 pages of the thread...looking forward to getting this...

I wonder if North Sylva is the distributor...usually they have a list of what stocking dealers are getting a particular product.

I think many stores were saying earlier this year they don't expect the NR FX9 to be in Canada this year, so this is quite the nice early Christmas present.

The distributor of Freedom Ordnance is Wolverine Supplies here.

They work if you are talking about powder coated bullets.

Take Care

Bullets coated with Hi-Tek use a polymer coating. It's different than powder coating which has a "rougher" finish. I would like to know if polymer coated bullets (using Hi-Tek) run in an FX-9 without issues. Thanks.

Well since my CZ Scorpion is a safe queen now, i just ordered a FX-9 to be able to have some fun with at the range. Looking forward to posting some pics when it gets here!!

Where did you order yours?

I was on the road yesterday when I got a message that FOC had theirs come in. I am like, well, I am driving and it look like they got 20 or so there...I should be home in 15 minutes and will order then.

Got home - they were all sold out...

Hotcakes, these things are...

I also got the email stating FOC got them in ... 30 mins later I went to check and they were sold out. I was kind of sitting on the fence anyway because even though I want one I cant really afford it right now so probably a good thing but I REALLY WANT ONE..

These just landed at Bullseye North today (Saturday)...I ordered mine.

There are 63 or so left as of this writing.

Forgive if it's been asked before (as the thread is 56 pages long) but what are the most reliable magazines for these? Genuine Glock double stack pinned to 10? Will the single stack 10 rounders work? What about the aftermarket 10/27 mags?

The genuine glock 10rd mags stick down the least, and hang up on trees less. But they aren't sprung stiffly enough to trip the last round bolt hold open every time (can get stiffer aftermarket mag springs). And getting the 10th round in the mag was difficult.
On the FX9 I had the 10/27 KCI mags worked the best. Easiest to load to 10, easiest to reload, and they almost always held the bolt open on the last round. After I replaced the factory buffer and spring with much heavier components the rifle fed and extracted reliably with every mag I had. Glock or aftermarket. I'm sure the 10/33 Glock fun sticks would work great, if one could find them.

Totally agree with this with Glock mags, and the unreliability of not holding bolt open is not unique to the FX9. My Ruger PCC's last round bolt hold open consistently does not work with original OEM Glock 10-round mags. PMAG 10/17 seems to work better. Good to know that this same behaviour is in the FX9 so I am going to be buying aftermarket mags for mine.

Bulleye North's available FX9s are now at 23. I suspect these will be sold out in the next few hours. Only four hours or so ago it was at 70+. Nice to see it selling so well, especially in these uncertain times.

Thanks to both the posters above. I will likely pick up some of the pinned double stacks.

Cheers!

What spring and buffer weight did you use for replacement? thank you.
