I have had the exact opposite experience.beltfed said:Grease is generally better at staying on the bearing surfaces, but will attract and retain grit and crap as well.
Oil on the other hand tends to flow away from the bearing surfaces over time and use, but the trade off is that it takes that grit and crap with it.
Oil is great for extended field or dirty use, but grease may provide better protection for range use.

- worthless point which adds nothing to the XCR topic.
For the XCR - try 3
Kevins is right just keep it lubed and no problems . CLP works great in but grease is best left to the SIGSKevinB said:I'd never use grease on an AR or other "assault" rifle -- you can easily add more CLP at any time--
Hey qyv- I just took my xcr out, it kinda ran poopy on gas setting 2. I changed it back to three and it was better, but still not like I wanted (except for 5.56 q3131a, ran like a champ on 3)
I put it back on 4, and runs flawlessyly again, and the recoil isn't much different. f**k it, I will keep it on 4.
I will get some pics for you soon dude, as I have been uber busy playing with another toy, a gsxr 750
Cheers dude
Ya, I got a complete new upper, and the CBSA raped it.
Seriously though, the old upper had a problem with a bur on the bolt carrier, which was causing the weird marking and maybe causing the ejection issue.
So Robarms supplied you with a whole new upper? Why not replace just the bolt??
How many rounds do you have through it now? Is it reliable?
