CZ 600 thoughts?

I fail to understand why would they put plunger ejector at 6 o'clock together with control feed. Anyone has any explanation for that?

The Lux does look like an impressive rifle, glad to see them do away with proprietary mounts. The Sako 85 style 3 lug controlled feed bolt is a good upgrade from the 2 lug push feed 557.

The range model with a .75 MOA 5 Shot guarantee is some serious business. All this, plus it's a switch barrel rifle for under $1500, externally adjustable trigger, mag lock, threaded barrel, what's not to like! Even if you are not a fan of switch barrel rifle for having multiple calibers, it's nice to be able to swap out a worn out tube in a few minutes at home.

I see a lot of traits from Sako, Sauer, Roessler, etc. in this rifle and that's a good thing.

An impressive, bold move by CZ. A design that will appeal to a broader cross-spectrum of buyers, while at the same time ensuring a special place for the 527, 557 and 550--for those who still want solid bolt heads and threaded barrels, and CRF in the traditional sense (527, 550). I can see the 527 inventories will sell out quickly. I am hanging on tightly to my 527 and 557 Lux.

Loving the look of the Trail and the Range....not sure what I'm going to do now...anyone interested in a Rem 700xr (.308) in a hogue stock and an original made in Israel Nickel plated Desert Eagle in 41/44!!!???? :)

Alloy receiver is pretty ballsy and it would interesting to throw the bare action on a scale. If they gained popularity and aftermarket support an ultralight stock might make for an appealing mountain rifle.

I wonder what the finish is on the barrel and bolt...nitrided like the CZ457  If so it would be a good foul weather option.

I'm sure they will discontinue 527 and 550. As of now 527 magazines are nowhere to be found, I bet they just stopped making them. They are covering all styles all lengths with CZ 600 lineup. This tells me that they want all unified parts right away and they have all lines ready based on unified action. The only thing they left out of CZ 600 is safari magnums.

CZ600 Trail for 223 is 6.1 lbs
Barrel 16.2 inch
Overall length 27 - 35 inch

I probably didn't state it very well. Yes, they phased out the 527 and 557. Remaining inventory of 527 and 557 will sell fast for those that want all-steel, box mags (557), threaded barrels and solid bolt heads, and non-Sako (big claw extractor) CRF in case of the 527. Yeah, bummer about 527 mags.

"But the other features are also convincing in detail. The newly designed trigger assembly is a single-stage trigger that can be adjusted by the user in four stages and has a trigger weight of 600 to 1300 grams. The lightweight, leading "backpack model" CZ 600 Trail with AR-style light alloy chassis, on the other hand, has a four-setting adjustable double-stage trigger with a trigger pull weight of 900 to 1550 grams. This is combined with a two-position safety on the tang that can be silently activated/deactivated, as well as a loaded chamber indicator. The double-stack box magazine offers a detent function that, by simply sliding the magazine release upward, locks it into the gun as a fixed internal magazine. Magazine capacity is five rounds in standard calibers and three rounds in magnum calibers. Certainly interesting is also the new "BobOx" surface coating of all metal parts, which promises extreme resistance and maximum corrosion protection. Let's turn to the equipment details of each member of the CZ 600 family."
