I can't believe nobody has posted this yet

I know what you mean Calum .
The new stuff is everywhere and it's all priced great , plus it seems to be hitting us all at the same time .
Oh the problems we must endure .lol.

230$ and you can't afford one? man! you must be eating kraft dinner.

Actually yes, let just say money wise things are pretty bad right now at our house...no actually really super Über bad. (and the credit cards at the max). :(

I have even been selling some of my guns (not the SKS's). :(

Sucks to see a deal like this come out right now....ARRRG!

Anyway I digress...

So any ideea about the quality? I doubt these would be much better quality than the Yugos, if not the same. But what really counts, is that they are, well...Russian...:)

no chance of the quality being better than yugo, you wanna know why? cos yugo are newly made and the russian stop making theirs back in 1955, the best we can can hope for is a refurbished one.

but honestly i dont know why many people thinks yugo makes the best quality sks, i have both, and far as i can tell , the russian is better.

even my chinese factory 26 1965 is better ( excluding the wood stock) , not kidding.

Nobody Told Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I Hate You Guys!!!!

Ok...I'm on the list now.....I forgive you.

Relax, you have about two month to come up with cash. Just put your name on the list. I think you can set aside $100 per month... just think how to get extra cash or something.

im not the type to look at gift horse in the mouth but i just got a moment to think and wonder why so cheap? $230-249 for a russian made SKS seams rather low, the conditions are good to excellent but yet priced at $100 cheaper than what its selling for here and in the US markets.

for $230 thats just $5 more than what milarms are selling their new norinco SKS for. mmmmmh what gives?

They are for sale in CZ for around $150 Can, and even cheaper in other parts of Europe.

i checked and they are selling it for 5500ck in czech rep, thats C$295 .

and against the russian ruble , our $$$ is only up 11% over the last 12mo. so that still dont compute .

Little known info at this time and lots of questions .
What we know : They're Russian , they appear to be very inexpensive , did I mention they're Russian .
What we don't know : everything else .....
But if you think you want one , put your name on the list , it cost's nothing unless he can deliver .

this is what i know:

1. model : simonov SKS
2. made in : russia (1949-1955)
3. delivered here by russian , assume coming from russia.
4. rifle conditions: good to excellent , i will assume that most are good and few are excellent .
5. refurbished: unknown , most russian are but these may not be.
6. price : $230-250 , considered inexpensive
7. ETA :mid-late feb 08
8. dealer :frontier

right you are rupzuk, at that price , well worth putting your name on the waiting list, cant lose.

laminated stock are gorgeous but its not the original stock, when the old artic birch stock became wore or split , it was replace by laminated during refurbishing . so should it come with laminated stock then i will be one happy camper.

here is a pic of my laminated stock.

BTW emmab : good shooting on thurs. you got a 2" group of 4 rounds at 100 with your basicly out-of-box , no scope new m305 , very impressive.
