a year and a half ago, me and my buddy rented a USC carbine, and they had full 10 round magazines. I was under the impression that "pistol round = 10 rounds, rifle round = 5 rounds"....
Now, i havn't looked into it for a looong time, but was there some BS rule that was made between then and now to change that? I searched around a bit, but couldn't find anything pertaining to it....![]()
that's sort of it...sort of.
From my understanding, THEY look at what the mag was initially designed for.
A mag designed for a pistol can legally hold up to 10 rounds whereas a "rifle" mag can only hold up to 5 rounds.
Now the fun part is that it does not matter what you use the mag in....hence the CX4 Storm can use the pistol mags and have 10 rounds...but the mag that was designed for the CX4 is limited to only 5 rounds since it was "designed" for the CX4 specifically.
Same idea for the 10 round AR pistol mags.
