my dude, I'm actually shocked reading all the high and mighty replies to your comment/story.
I'm Almost at a loss for words... kinda got me fired up.
In fact stuff like this happens daily to Our techs... wow some people and the customer can treat your guys like $hit and still get service attitude is astounding.
I'm sorry but you don't cuss out a tech let alone yell at office staff/ let alone touch a tech. 100% would have walked away as well, only difference is
I would have said I have the part, call someone else.

For those calling it petty?? yup you're damn right. Go to any store or call any service and cuss them out at the bare min and see where that gets you.
Why should that be any different in person? Not a single person wakes up and asks to deal with that, but go off on how rude the hvac owner is. yikes.
 
Some of the most foul mouthed customers are also sometimes the biggest spenders..."sticks and stones"..

Even before you shared the full story it wasn't hard to read between the lines. I deal with the public too and the number of self entitled people out there is staggering. Honestly making him wait the 3 days was a slick move.

Part of running a business and or servicing the public is putting up with peoples BS. Every once and a while I see somebody pissed off about something that isn't our fault and I still try and fix it. If a customer is a threat to my property or employees (or really disturbing the peace) than that's one thing, but just a #####y email its like who tf cares?? Try to help the disgruntled customer and move on. By them giving the OP that attitude it basically validates his bad attitude. Now we have this dumpster fire leaching electricity out of society to keep it updated. While the reply from FOC with the same dude writing it is hilarious, its not the smartest business practice IMO.
