Beretta SL2 Launch Edition

I'm sure it will be another great Beretta product but the styling is not for me.
Looks like they've gone to a Boss style lock up too. It reminds me of the Synergy when it came out with it's square cornered trigger guard and odd line through the receiver and stock, I never did like the Synergy either.

Totally agree. First thing that came to mind was that it looks like a Cynergy.....and that gun is likely the only Browning I dont like

It will be interesting to see how this futuristic design fares in the marketplace. Double barrelled shotgun users tend to be traditionalists and not very receptive to cosmetic changes just for the sake of ‘style’. Beretta’s Perennia was a sales flop and soon discontinued, Browning’s Cynergy hasn’t done much better and Benelli’s over/under hasn’t set the world on fire either. Technical advances and improvements are one thing, styling changes for the purpose of getting attention remind me of a ten year old tearing around the house shouting “look at me, look at me”. Beautiful wood on this demo though.

Ty I appreciate everyone's inputs as there are so many models to choose, the sheer esthetic beauty of this style of firearm is art gallery worthy.

If they mentioned the price in the video then I missed it and Beretta doesn't have msrp on they're website either. I had thought that it would be considerably cheaper than a Dt-11 or So5 but maybe since it's an all new receiver then it mght not be! If this new style Boss action lock up is succesful then maybe it will spell the end of production for the 680 series?

Wouldn’t think it’s going to affect the 680 series it’s not intended to IMO.

Betcha it’ll be in the 15k to 25k price point.

I don't really think it will replace the 680 series either.
15 to 25k puts it into the price range of really good guns and it has yet to be proven sucessful, that would be a real leap of faith and probably a non starter when competing with Perazzi and Kreighoff, Kolar and the likes.

The big B doesn’t give a crap about Kreighoff or Kolar, Blazer ect.

This guns about Olympic medals and they only have one other company that can compete against them.

If their guns can’t compete they’ll make sure they get the best athletes.

IMO.

Everyone knows it's the shooter and not the gun that counts so these companies buy the best shooters they can find and Beretta has a well established track record of doing so. As long as your gun doesn't break down and works well for the athlete then your in contention to win! I don't think that's their intention for this new gun but it may be.

Agreed about the shooter but.

If you have a 2min window for gun malfunction before you are disqualified would you shoot a k80 with a World Cup on the line?

Funny Jim I consider myself a traditionalist but have both a Cynergy and a Benelli 828.Both are hunting guns but serve there purpose and the Cynergy spent several hours in a sunken boat in the salt chuck.Took it apart and all good. Are they ugly ,yes I would say so :)
