It's not really that cheap. Beretta spits out Italian made 1301's for 1400 bucks with chokes, hard cases etc all day.

It's still cool, but comparatively, it's not cheap.

Considering Beretta also makes like $2400 semis in the A400 platform, and then Browning and Benelli also have several shotgun lines over $2000, $1400 is a cheap Beretta.

Also shotguns in general tend to be cheaper than rifles, until you get to the "pieces of art" category. $1200 is a cheap semi-auto rifle, especially when you consider the current state of the Canadian market. Tavors, RFBs/RDBs, B&Ts, they're all well over 2 grand, and given that the WK-180/WS-MCR are both just a bit more expensive than these, but notoriously less reliable, this $1200 gun once again comes off as relatively cheap.

I'm comparing what you get for your money (quality/QC), not what else they happen to make in their other lines.

Those B&T are not painted with BBQ paint and bent from the factory, with chipped grips and that is bearly held on. Like I said, it's cool and I want one, but "cheap" is generous...

It's fair for what it is and what's available to us.

Yeah not a fan of the shotgun comparison as shotguns are cheap to begin with. You can get a decent maverick 88 for 300 sometimes less. So when you hit 1400 for a shotgun it’s already in Gucci territory. But for rifles, something in 223 and semi auto is impossible to find for a decent price. Especially considering the M+M10X is we’ll into 2K and notorious for reliability. At 1200 getting a solid working 7.62x39 rifle is a steal! In the 223 realm you either buy a 180 series rifle that will dissemble itself eventually or a T97. Or pony up and buy a Tavor or APC223 which are absurdly expensive. I miss the good old days of 729 AR15s Ugghh

what's people's thoughts on fixed vs folder? can it be fired folded? sorry to repeat a question that's probably been asked more than once

I prefer the look of the fixed but find it easier and faster to get lined up with the iron sights with the folder. I'd does shoot folded, but other than looking cool what's the point? Of course looking cool can be the entire point in our hobby eh.

Personally i can fit it in a much nicer and more convenient/compact range bag when it's folded, so for transportation it's a nice feature to have.

Folder IMO not only looks nicer, but it is waaaaaaay more comfy to shoulder and shoot. Ive owned my folder since the very first import... and have maybe folded it like 20 times lol

Ahh yes I forgot about the parkerized finish!

I personally think the right hand safety thing was a big mistake, if they were going to do that then should have milled the receivers to allow for interchangeable left or right safety and included both in the box (left hand safety with normal pins installed with right hand safety and tapped pins included with the mounts).

As it stands you get one or the other and they are not interchangeable without modifying the receiver.

It was dumb decision. geared no doubt to selling sights. On a folder too. Hate it
Hoping TNA fixes problem

I quite like my fixed stock special edition. Beautiful looking rifle I love the aesthetic, its accurate enough to land shots on steel at 150 using irons with the norc white box which is as far as ive taken it so far. Made sure to get a chicom chest rig to accompany it. Considering buying a second one with the next batch is there an ETA? Would probably get another fix stocked tbh. I was eye balling those sights but between the ehhh mounts and the right side safety glad I went with the simple fixed.

TI has indicated the next batch will be released in January. People on here have mentioned as early as the first week of the New Year.

pretty much.

yup, thats next week. they been sitting in a warehouse in alberta since November.

Is there something we should know?

I believe it was stated they were shipped from BC to Alberta in December, not November. TI elected not to begin selling them until after the holiday season, to allow the holiday shipping backlog to clear, and presumably give their employees a proper holiday season.
