I think the LMG sales are down because people want the regular version, it'll be a while until there are enough around to lower the price. And if you look at pictures of both firing pins they are identical
Well if you’ve already made up your mind why ask the questions?
LMG is a novelty variant, it was an overpriced dressed up Type 81 fixed. Sales were probably never all that great for this reason alone, and you could see that long before we knew this batch of SE were released because of how many desperation sales retailers had, throwing in drum mags, making “final price drops”. It just never added up, paying a premium for an “LMG” that’s now clunkier, uglier, less ergonomic, and it still a semi auto with a long barrel which is pinned to the same 5 rounds as anything else.
As for the firing pin, still not sure where you’re going with that? Maybe you could use an AK firing pin? You still probably shouldn’t going off a visual analysis of a finely tuned piece of machining is stupid. Even if it was, which I doubt, because of literature I’ve read on the Type 81, you wouldn’t save any money or improve any sort of higher quality, the Type 81 was designed as an improvement, and the parts kit is readily available, containing an assortment of components that while you may never need, are proprietary and you now have a source of.
