I need your impressions about the gsg-16

You got that right! And no lame 10 round mags either.

If you want to shoot say 12,000 rounds with say a Cooey 64, a Marlin 60 or a Kris Vector 22lr or other 10 round 22s you'll be loading for a long time:)

Except I actually like the 10rd mags better. I have 15 of them and they've made me way more proficient at mag changes. I don't have any targets that I need to shoot 22 times in a row anyways. I've always got 150 rounds at the ready, with 4 mags of the GSG you have like 80. And don't drop the thing, it might break...but it looks good, eventually. I am glad there's an accessible MP5ish NR out there though.

They run great so long as you feed them HV stuff.

False.. I run Standard velocity and Subsonics flawless in mine.

I was gonna say, I bought one for my son, and it's been fed a ton of CCI quiets, and I don't think a single problem ftf or malfunction in probably 500 rounds. Epic run for any .22 actually.

You probably run the higher velocity CCI Quiet 22 semi ( about 100FPS faster) As mine won't run the 710 FPS CCI quiets.

I'll be that guy... I bought one. I loved it at first.. But then the love turned to hate.. Super kewl & accurate rifle. Once I took it down to full disassembly multiple times for cleaning the jams started. I was soo through & detailed on the cleaning it made me mental on why the jams started to happen. I was so frustrated I sold it. I'll stick my my ole faithfuls... 64B, 10/22, & 597. All in all it's a super wicked rifle it cycles properly...

Its fun but its plastic (like almost every girl I dated in HS)

I was in the honeymoon phase and then the jams started. But I was feeding it Golden Bullet and Thunderbolts.
I have since been told that it really likes CCI. I bought a bunch but haven't been out since

If you want to introduce a new shooter its a fantastic gun to get them interested. it 10/10 on the fun scale when it works

Thunderbolts were causing jams in my GSG but after I started using CCI Minimag no issues whatsovever.

Clean it after 400-500 rounds and no jamming due to a dirty gun either. 22 ammo by nature is really dirty stuff to shoot.

If you want to use the 110 rnd drums the gun will need to be clean. Any resistance due to dirt will cause feeding issues with the drum. In my experience, a clean GSG will shoot the drum very reliably.

extent, so there is hope :)

Even MP5s break their charging handles. Look at the number of replacements available on HKparts.

The GSG charging handle shaft is steel. The problem is that they made them smaller diameter than an actual MP5 for some reason. There are replacement steel versions on ebay from a canadian seller in MB who turns them from a single piece of billet.

It's build quality level has a shelf life and users are getting close to the rifle's best before date as components and materials are slowly beginning to fail. The action and magazine feeding seems reliable at first, giving owners confidence, but it's overall build quality otherwise has an early expiration date due to its pot metal, toy grade plastics, and egregious take down field stripping/cleaning process.
People have to assume it is toy grade and not going to get passed down to their offspring like a decent rifle. It will be fun while it still works though.

What you've just described is a disposable novelty item, which is fitting...

No not at all, the rifle is my kids favorite rifle hands down. They don't care about any of my other 22s as they don't fit them as perfectly as the GSG or are as fun. What are you guys looking for only $479 lol. When it finally breaks it will be in Valhalla after a long and loved life on the range used by my friends and family.

If you rate your rifle on the number of grins it provides there is nothing else out there that can match it for a 22.

Sure won't last till Ragnarok . . . I'd want something that can last a while . . . and deal with Niffelheim - plastic doesn't do it I think.

I'd buy a $200 Sav-64 or $400 Sav-B2. The A22s are OK if you can deal with a heavy trigger. The 25 round mags are OK for both A & Bs.

Oh come on Savage 64? You have to take off the barrel to clean it, when it goes back on your red dot lost its zero. It isn't even close. No last round hold open, and that weird cocking handle push in lock thing.

I still love my Cooey 64 /savage 64 lol, don't get me wrong it's a good rifle with decent trigger
