Also, will QD handguard and dust cover be a part of Mk 3?
 
FWIW, my understanding is the same as that shared by Ustauk above. The revised Rear Rail height will not be seen until the first batch of Production Rifles (Mk 2.1) is sold. How big that first batch of production rifles actually is, I do not know. The Dust Cover and QD handguard are a ways down the road in what will be known as the R18 Mk 3. The engineers are just now devising a QD system for the Mk 3 Handguard, so production is some ways off yet. The same goes for a possible run of T7075 Upper and Lower Receivers, which will be a special, limited production run if/when it occurs. Also, stand by for special Cera-Kote runs, making use of TSE's in-house CeraKote production facility to offer something extra to the discerning R18 owner.

Raised stock picatinny attachment
Mid-weight barrel
Adjustable gas block
Heavier recoil springs
Revised backplate and guide rods
Steel cocking lever

A dust cover and QD rail system is only in their drawing room stage and needs to be prototyped and extensively tested first.

We were able to stop the lower in time, so... the change can be made for the "go forward".

Thanks, and nice work integrating recent user feedback into the design prior to making R18 MK 2.1!

Garand Thumb mentioned having the need for cheek risers on the stock to account for the AK105s tallness of optic rail for much the same reason. Any chance the Zhukov 1913/Picatinny adapter would work with the Zenitco PT-1 Telscoping Skeleton Stock in the below video?

Since you guys are being so iterative with this (very interesting to see this in action BTW) it might be worth doing a quick CAD mockup of the proposed changes before any tooling is changed or billet is milled. Since you are taking community input seriously I think it would be valuable for everyone (especially you and SAI) to have some confirmation from the community that design changes will be well received before they are committed (I'll be the first to admit I'm not always the best of the best when it comes to accurately communicating what I'm looking for).

It's very cool that you're doing this and I'm very excited to see where this project goes over the next few months :dancingbanana:

I believe it was mentioned upthread it would not be sent to R18 Mk2.0 purchasers, as the 2.0 is gassed fine for its calibre, the block is meant to allow flexibility for future factory calibres and user upgrades, it is sized for the slightly thicker 2.1 barrel, and has anti-rotation projections that fit into corresponding dimples on the 2.1 barrel.

This is what we are thinking..... the stock now is in line with the bore. SAI raised the axis by .35"

Oh that's pretty cool! I hope i still had one years ago where i lost it. It's still a pretty cool novelty to have and Im not gonna lie, i will prbably buy one when i can find one online.

You need a PT to 1913 rail converter which is only offered by one person at the moment, who only produces them in super small batches very rarely. I’m planning on putting a PT-4 on my R18
 
Not gonna lie for such a small dimensional change that looks soooo much better and obviously has functional benefits for in-line recoil and optics mounting. Congrats on going from feedback to production change so quickly and I'm excited to see more reviews shortly

The CCFR's "House Lawyer" Michael Loberg seems to be very happy with his R18 "Pencil Barrel" version on the CGN FB Page. First positive (albeit brief) review of a rifle "in the wild".
