Is it just me or does it seem like the Marlin 336 unfairly gets over shadowed by the Winchester 94?
I have both and prefer the 336.

Sentimentalism
336 is so much easier to clean and scope. Also the first centrefire rifle I bought myself, I’m sentimental too I guess because I prefer it.
Now the 1892, there’s a gun…
I don’t usually clean my guns or put scopes on levers so I’ll stick with the 94. Much nicer to carry with the svelte receiver and I don’t like pistol grip stocks.
Browning drew it 50 years earlier. One is a classic western rifle. The other is simply a very nice rifle in the style of a classic western rifle. How is this a question?

336 is a superior design in every way, esthetically its prettier too.
336 comes in both straight stock and monte carlo.
Curved grip levers always make for awesome blood blisters, enter the Win 88.
The 336 is a generally better shooter and easy to take apart & clean, but the 94 has history, pedigree and pinache. Better doesnt always equal more desirable.
