Well since grizz has been done in BC, my 375 Ruger Alaskan has collected a pile of dust. Time to bring it back alive! Unfortunately I missed the bus on a McMillan stock as I hear they no longer make them for Ruger.. My plan was to put an HS Precision stock on it but apparently they are back ordered. I did however find a B&C stock that should fit it. Its in the mail. Im not a big fan of them but options are limited. Cant stand the stock it came with. Any one have any experience with B&C on a Ruger Hawkeye????
Next question is QD rings. I have been happy with the factory Ruger rings, but I see no point as the rifle has sights. Chances of me ever having to take the scope off are slim, but would like to have that option. I will keep the scope I have on it- 2.5-8x36 vx3. What is the best QD ring set up for my application?
Just when you all thought the 375 Ruger threads were over...... :)

I had a B&C on a 7RM MKII. The same stock would not fit my 375 Alaskan. Might be possible with lots of fitting. But maybe B&C has a new model stock that fits now.

Ruger rings are QD with a loonie or a Leatherman. No, it won’t be a perfect return to zero but it will be close, and it sounds like you will only remove the scope in an emergency so return to zero may be a moot point anyway.

If you still want proper QD rings for your scope I might still have a pair of Warne 1” QD rings for Ruger. I currently use Warne 30mm QD rings on my rifle- they work great but I hate the little key insert Warne uses.

I was kind of worried about ordering that B&C stock.... It did say it fits Hawkeye long action, and the measurements they have on the sight are almost exactly the same as my factory stock except for barrel muzzle diameter which was based off a 24” barrel. Mine obviously a 20” barrel... Will see. Im expecting some fittment....
As for rings, I would prefer proper QD’s.

I use Alaska Arms QD's on my 375 Guide. Work like a charm. Little breaking in but fit and finish is excellent. Return to zero each and every time.

The B&C stock should fit. I have McMillan that was on my custom Ruger MKII .35 Whelen. When I bought my .375 Ruger Alaskan I stole the McMillan from the Whelen and replaced the Hogue on the .375. No fitting issue. The McMillan now lives on the .375 and I have a B&C on the Whelen.

Since a 2017 grizzly hunt, my 375 Ruger has only gone on one elk hunting trip. I have used the Warne QD rings but did switch to the Alaskan Arms QD rings a couple years ago. I need to get the King barkin' again too. A good friend of mine has taken four bull elk with his McMillan stocked m77 Alaskan in the last five years

I've killed three bull moose with my .375 Ruger. I took the Whelen out this year for moose, I felt bad that it had stayed in the safe ever since I got my Alaskan. Didn't get to kill a moose with the Whelen this year so it might be coming out again next season.

Well the stock sure came fast! Not like Canada Post these days! The B&C actually fits really nice! Im surprised.... It will still get bedded as do all my rifles. Weight without a scope is 7lbs 11oz as pictured. Havnt decided on rings yet. Might just keep the Ruger ones, not sure... It feels like a totally different rifle.. Much happier! It will kill a moose this year..

Looks real good with the black Diamond Kote finish. It’s an early model without the barrel band swivel. Good luck on the moose, it works real good!

Thanks! Yes I have had this one for a long time now. I like the black better that stainless finish... On this rifle anyway. I have only shot bears with it. Dont need it for moose but will make a point to bring it out for my Alberta moose this year as I should be able to pull my tag there...

looks great! The moose will die nicely

ALL HAIL THE NEW KING OF 375's!

What are you shooting in your Ruger?

250gr TTSX has been my go to, but found the 270gr TSX shoot a little better yet.... I remember a bullet test a while back that you did... What are you shooting?

Same, 250gr TTSX. I’d like to try the 250gr GMX (or probably the CX now) but they were so expensive compared to the TTSX, I can only imagine now.
