Finally got to the range with my GSG 16 with after market 9" barrel and my Kriss Vector SBR 22lr shorty.
The GSG feels much more like a toy than the Kriss. Very light and plastic like. The Kriss feels very solid and heavy and well made. I had high hopes and thought the Kriss was much better before I actually shot them both.
When my son and I shot them this is what we found:
GSG
- shot multiple ammo types
- very light and easy to move
- very accurate
- easy to sight in a red dot and shoot tight groups after that
KRISS
- very picky about ammo to the point it was annoying
- tried to sight in the reflex sight but it was too low and just made things more annoying.
I was very disappointed in the Kriss considering how much it cost compared to the GSG. However, I spent a lot on the GSG to upgrade it including the 9" barrel.
We had a lot of fun shooting the GSG and the Kriss just made us mad with all the fail to feed and fail to fire issues.
I do know I had a better red dot on the GSG which made it easier to sight in. I will get a better sight for the Kriss for our next shoot and will need to pay much better attention to what type of ammo it likes.
All in all, the GSG was very accurate and fun today. The Kriss was a major let down but I hope with a new sight and different ammo we will have a much better experience.
What are your thoughts?
