Rifle Build Thread!

M70 stainless classic 458Lott. A legend. The guns not bad either.

This was my first stab at a target style rifle, Im a hunter and not really a target guy and didn't like the look of the new age target rifles, chassis for example are excellent and practical but cold and ugly !

So here's is a 6.5 Creedmoor built by Gary Flach on a Stiller Predator single shot short action, 28 inch 1-8 twist Sendero contour Bartlein Barrel, Timney Calvin Elite Trigger, Wildcat Vartac stock.

I’ve only got one full custom at the moment, most of my others are pretty much factory rifles that have been tweaked with barrels and stocks etc

358 Norma on a 1935 Brazilian Mauser. Built by Frank Magro and Lou Bates out of Cranbrook. Slick as a whistle and plenty accurate with 250 A-Frames.

Ron Kenneth Smith! Alberta's, man, barrels and legend. I've been to his shop a few times, and I really go back in time when viewing his old machinery and other tools....amazing! He is probably the oldest person in North America who makes barrel.

Wrong .... The wood stays! IMHO, it does need sights to finish it off.

Very nice either way.

I thought about putting sights on it, but I’ll probably never use them….I’ll save the few hundred bucks for shooting and hunting with the old beast.

I only have one rifle with out iron sights and I feel like it is missing something… I like irons on a blued wood stock rifle, and all my rifles are blued wood stock flavour!!

Thanks for all of the contributions! Let's try to keep the banter to a minimum so we can focus on the wonderful builds folks have!

You are all making me want to go out and do a build on a Model 70 I have laying around...
