Refreshing existing checkering

I have recut flat-top diamonds to pointed diamonds with good results. As long as the lines per inch on the cutter matches the original checkering, it is quite simple work, although tedious. Important to go slowly - never rush. After re-cutting, a couple of applications of Birchwood Casey tru-oil brushed in with an old toothbrush gave a very satisfactory finished product.

I have always preferred the 90 degree cutter, you don't need to go as deep to 'point up' and the points are a bit stronger.
Don't mind the screw ups I know they are there...

LOL! You suffer the same problem every person I know that makes stuff, does! You spent too much time, staring at the work, and you forget to sit back and enjoy the effect, without paying so much attention to the faults that you know are there!

That's some pretty work! Faults or no!

Regarding my question about a Winnipeg supplier,
I was digging out some C1, C2 info and found one of their lists
A bit of history , if anyone cares, Bob and Yvonne ?????
Banner Specialties 1968 to 1993
than HVH enterprises up to about early, mid 2000,s
Suppliers to the trade.
I see Redmann 22 RF liners where 157.25 at that time.
The one I still have is 2002 , the Den-Bart starter kit was 46.25, the master set was 65.49,
and the regular cutters where 4.20 to 5.25
I have not check prices for a few years now.

Good day all! I’m refinishing an old sporterized Mauser stock and I want to recut/refresh the existing checkering and wanting to know what is the best approach to do so? I don’t have checkering tools yet and I want to know what would I need! I read that for this, one could/can use a single line cutter, thoughts?
All advices are welcome !
Cheers

About an hour ago there was/is a set available on the EE...
Might wanna rush there and check them out.
Rob

I bought a Forester scope mount drill jig from Banner a long time ago, I think they are around $500.00 now. I bought a few Redman liners as well from them. They required a 5/16 piloted drill as I recall.
