Where to find dummy selector switch?

try Fulton armory don't know if they ship to canada but i have seen them on there site http://www.fulton-armory.com/

Hungry Here: Save yourself the embarassment. Clint McKee stopped shipping to Canada 15 years ago. I used to buy all kinds of accurized tweaks for my M14's back in the mid-80's, but that's long over. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I would not even know where to find said "dummy selector kits".

http://www.fulton-armory.com/MAParts.htm look a third of the way down and you'll find it

The Fulton switch is not as nice as the Sparrowhawk ones due to the missing arm that runs along to top of the stock.

Sparrow Hawk
Notice "rail" that runs along the wood.

Fulton
just the switch, no rail.

Fulton will not ship to Canada either.
I've even been looking on the air soft sites but haven't found anything.

Reading up on the subject & in Vietnam, most of the selector switches were removed from the rifles before issueing them. But would still like to fill the hole with something.

there's a sticky on how to do this- basically, you fill in the hole with j-b weld and let it set- the 5 minute stuff also works well, provided you can MOVE IN A HURRY

no you're reading it wrong- the m14 was ISSUED as a semi-automatic along with a baggie containing the f/a lever and a spring- the decision as to which rifles would be issued as squad autos was made at battalion level, and the ones not selected had their baggies removed and stored- if we were in the states, you can still find said baggies- if you know what to look for- it's supposed to be an armorer's job, but you can do it with a punch and hammer, provided you have a REAL m14-
if you ever get the chance to see the real thing, look at the selector at the right rear of the receiver- unless someone has milled it off( which was NOT DONE when either returned to stores or released to other countries from the us- read bubba's been here)
you'll see a big black knob anchored by a pin over the selector shaft- THIS IS THE WAY THEY WERE ORIGINALLY ISSUED, and the baggie containing the f/a parts, was attached by wire to the trigger guard

I read this on a Vietnam Vets web site, just how they wrote it. They prob weren't aware of how the riflews were issued.

Don't want to fill in the hole if I can't get one as thats how they were left when issued without he switch.
(again just from what I've read)

Ya heres a pic of the "button" type selector switch.

that's not a button, but in fact is the selector switch lock- pushing on it would make no difference as the selector shaft has to rotate to engage a lip on the sear release which then holds the sear on the trigger assembly back- if you have a manual, look at fig 38 to see how this works, and then figure 27 to see the sear itself , on the trigger - from what i've heard, the new norcs don't have this part at all

the ones sparrowhawk/fulton have use a modified "u" bracket which screws into the stock, one screw on each side of the bracket , with the "button" screwed into the centre of the bracket- IT DOES NOT ATTACH TO RECEIVER IN ANY WAY- you may be able to MAKE one if you get a good enough look at how it goes together

By button, I didn't mean a push button but rather as how they refer to it on their site as a "button" style.

You are correct in that they don't attach to the reciever as they are fake. Sparrohawk , on their web site, lists both types & how they attach to the stock.

I made my own from an Actual USGI FA selector kit:

After I took these pics I dremeled out the recess in the Op Rod for the selector linkage to fit. That gave me a fully equiped F/A Replica.
