no you're reading it wrong- the m14 was ISSUED as a semi-automatic along with a baggie containing the f/a lever and a spring- the decision as to which rifles would be issued as squad autos was made at battalion level, and the ones not selected had their baggies removed and stored- if we were in the states, you can still find said baggies- if you know what to look for- it's supposed to be an armorer's job, but you can do it with a punch and hammer, provided you have a REAL m14-The Fulton switch is not as nice as the Sparrowhawk ones due to the missing arm that runs along to top of the stock.
Sparrow Hawk
Notice "rail" that runs along the wood.

Fulton
just the switch, no rail.

Fulton will not ship to Canada either.
I've even been looking on the air soft sites but haven't found anything.
Reading up on the subject & in Vietnam, most of the selector switches were removed from the rifles before issueing them. But would still like to fill the hole with something.
I read this on a Vietnam Vets web site, just how they wrote it. They prob weren't aware of how the riflews were issued.
Don't want to fill in the hole if I can't get one as thats how they were left when issued without he switch.
(again just from what I've read)
Ya heres a pic of the "button" type selector switch.

I would like to get my hands on a dummy selector switch for my m14. Where can I get one in Canada?
