Just get a new production winchester model 70. The model 70 has so much soul, pedigree, and history you can litterly feel it from 5 feet away. Ok maybe thats an exaggeration but there just superb.

They are a fine rifle aren’t they! But that ruger up above is a pretty damn good looking rifle as well!
 
I personally think a Winchester Model 70 should be on that list. There are some fine Models 70's out there. If I was to get a new one I'd go for a beautiful maple stock.

Intersurplus has a lot of classic 3006 rifles on their website. You can't go wrong with one of the Husquvarna rifles built on the FN commercial actions.
 
Lots of options people don’t have to spend stupid money to get something
