QD Review - M+M M10X-Z DMR 7.62x39

Haha. I’d like to see your T81 in a holster.

Priceless!

Oh well. Like I said, we all surrender to your superior knowledge and opinion.

Thanks for enlightening us.

You're allowed to like what you like and you can like the M10X more than the type 81 all day long. Hell lots of dude still shoot .45 ACP for some reason, but liking something doesn't make it objectively better.

I think people are "butthurt" because your rifle is garbage. My type 81 will out shoot any of your guns (that actually work) all day long. Cry harder.

I’ll try not to be “butt hurt”.

Are you saying your T81 will actually outshoot any other gun? Is that good?

I had one of these and at first thought something must be wrong with the scope. Changed scope, same result.

The M+M was by far the least accurate rifle I ever owned.

I would not have taken a bet that I could outshoot a smoothbore shot gun with slugs at 100 yards.

I would not have taken a bet that I could shoot any better at 100 yards than a smooth bore shotgun shooting 00 buck!!!!

No I'm not kidding... Not exaggerating.

Sometimes 5 inch groups at a hundred... sometime 2 foot groups at 100... regardless of ammo.

If it shot half decent it might have been a nice gun though.

I used "butt hurt" in my original post because that was the language the M+M rep used to describe people on this forum, which I thought was rude and unprofessional to be honest.

No, it certainly wouldn't. I never stated that. My statement has been very clear from the beginning, the Type 81 is objectively and measurably a better rifle than the M10X.

That’s brutal.

May I ask what generation you had? Did it have the screw to secure the rail to the receiver?

Was your barrel loose? Straight?

What troubleshooting did you do?

Can anyone summarize what MM said in this thread before their posts got removed? I wasn't able to see their response.

I’m hoping they’ll repost.

Their posts had been helpful.

As a supporter of MM products I’d like to see a list of accuracy tips. Mine is accurate enough but I’m wondering if others need some direction.

I was actually wondering if epoxying the steel receiver to the aluminum exoskeleton would be beneficial - certainly it would eliminate rail shift. I see no reason to ever disassemble it.

Maybe I’m nuts tho.

Thoughts from others?

When it comes to guns i am totally agnostic, and forgive any and all sins of any manufacturer so long as the product works. Ive done my share of complaining about m10x's, but i just want to say for the record if they honestly and in good faith address the issues, all the issues most of us have with them id be 100% willing to buy one again.

You're not nuts. I think that, assuming the barrel is in straight, one of the best things M+M could do to the design would be to press fit the aluminum shell to the upper receiver and permanently connect the two.

I've interacted with them in the past on another site and they seem very friendly & receptive but they do take a bit, so I wouldn't be surprised if they chose not to repost or just make a singular statement (or if their post would stay up).

I'd just like to know the gist of their responses, since I was following the thread when it started but haven't checked back in for a few days only to miss it all go down, as someone who has been interested in the platform for quite a while, but still just hesitating for personal reasons.

Speaking about accuracy though, is it true these are capable of 1 MOA (or better)? I see some claims online about it but haven't really been able to get any end-user experience about it.

It was one of the very first ones that came into Canada. I could find nothing obviously wrong with it mechanically. I remember playing with shims between the forend and barrel, but that didn't help. In the end I just sold it. Both of my SKS are far more accurate, and more reliable too.

A buddy at the range told me I could not have used that M+M rifle to fight my way out of a phone booth.

I'm going with he wont be back.

Deleting his posts (aka censorship) was the wrong thing to do, especially that he wasn't interfering with business, he was doing the opposite.

I think his intentions were good and that the companies involvement was needed to sort some things out. Would have been nice for him to be around here. But there were a few things pointed out to him that not only did he fail to comprehend, he failed to accept.

This is a private owned forum (business) so as much as we may not agree with things it's one of those "their house their rules" situations. I warned him that he wouldn't last long if he didn't get a business membership and he brushed it off with justification (excuses) for why his involvement wasn't business related and then proceeded to bad mouth the forum once he found out his business couldn't post here. He was told to contact Admin about a business membership, stop posting and wait it out until it was sorted out. Then in another moment of brilliance he went on a spree saying how so much of his time was wasted and that he's no so inclined to continue posting here.

Playing by the rules isn't that difficult whether you like them or not. I think the last couple posts he made were enough for me to say good riddance if that's how he handles things when they don't go the way he wants them to.

Screw the rep. He is 2-3 years too late. He only came here due to the loss in sales and the disastrous marketing campaign that the company implemented. Their stupidity and arrogance sunk them more than the crappy gun did.

I hope they come back as there is clearly work to be done! If they value the Canadian market as much as he claimed to they will be back.

That said, it's going to take more then words and a few hours of posting to build trust and confidence! It's hard to build a good reputation and even harder to re-build after the confidence has been lost.

Sure his posts were helpful in that they implied future improved support, but clearly as a manufacture working to improve trust and confidence in their brand they are engaging in business activities. It's possible he was posting on his own time, but I doubt it.

They have their work cut out for them that's for sure..... :) His sour response in having "wasted his time" did come across as childish. I can understand him feeling that way but he should have kept his personal dissapointement to him self and taken the high road with a humble attitude.... there does seem to be a disconnect at M&M and a bit of arrogance.

The communication posted earlier from their customer service rep telling a customer they were s h i t out of luck for warranty support due to them having trimmed a coil off of a firing pin spring was beyond stupid for a company claiming to care about customers.

At least the guy posting the other day wanted to know who within the company sent that correspondence so he could try and rectify that type of customer service issue. THAT is the type of thing we need to see happening from companies so I have to give him credit for that. But the rest of the way he handled the situation with the forum rules and all that wasn't exactly confidence inspiring to the way they handle things. It all left me a little perplexed...

Well what else could he do? Blowing off customers over a trimmed spring is not even 101 level customer service training! There is something wrong somewhere if a person involved in their customer service thinks that response to an unrelated problem is smart or even close to acceptable.
