EDIT: JR has already been in touch with me about the results I've seen and we're going to be working on figuring out what's up. I'll update this post with results of troubleshooting

Edit2: manufacturer is warrantying this as they don't consider the accuracy I'm seeing to standard for the rifle they're selling as they want it to be.

So the results were a bit more interesting than expected. The rifle ran well, there were a couple little hangups but I was running a mixed bag of ammo through an out of the box rifle. nothing a quick rack of the charging handle couldn't sort out.

I want to preface this by saying that I did not clean the rifle before hand, it was in good shape out of the box. I did replace the trigger for something lighter. These are the first rounds shot so the barrel my have some unpolished burs that threw some of the results off?

With the right ammo I think the accuracy is acceptable but nothing to write home about, however it seems to be very picky about what ammo it likes and there doesn't seem to be a lot of consistency except maybe heavily favouring boat tail projectiles

Next steps are strip, clean, make sure everything is snugged up and then next weekend I'll go back out and retest with at least some of the ammo, specifically the bulk stuff to see if maybe it just needed to be worked in and lubed up a bit.

https://imgur.com/a/FpSUpnG <album with all pics, I'm going to outline some notables below. #8 was my bad, it shot lower than expected and 3 of the 5 rounds we just off the target

Pictured is the rifle in it's tested state:

Big disappointment is bulk 55gr FMJ which was all over the place:

Double edit, test was done at 100Y. fairly standard but I figured I should be clear.

It looks like from the photo you placed the bipod right below the gas block.

Couple of questions:

Do you load the bipod or just rest the rifle with no loading?
If you are loading the bipod, how much clearance do you have between the bipod and the gas block?
When the barrel 'whips' under firing, are you sure you have suitable clearance with the floated hand guard such that the gas block is not interfering with the hand guard?

You were firing a mixture of ammo, and therefore presumably a mixture of ball and extruded powders - you say you didn't clean before shooting - did you clean between strings of different ammo (presuming again that you didn't). This can affect SDs and groups fyi.

You mentioned burrs - did you notice above average copper fouling? Did you scope the bore? Before and after shooting?

The burs were just a theory, didn't pan out. after a good cleaning I had a gander and the barrel is nice and smooth with clear rifling.

the bipod question is good, that's actually something I ran in to when mounting and I'm not heavily loading the bipod, only using it for stability. so the mlok screw at the front is the only one that's installed. the back is basically just being held straight with an alignment lug. it was just about having a consistent platform for basic testing. There's noting interfering with the barrel.

having spoken with JR, they're bring it back and sorting it out.
