just wondering when we could expect to placing order for Bren 2 - 762x39 & 223 NR barrel?

Once I get a sample in my hands to make a dimensional drawing we can turn blanks to. At that point I will post up a pre-order for them. Until then everyone please give us room to work.

I'm excited for this project...

Was trying to decide if it would be worth it to just buy the NR version. But for 700 bucks difference I preordered the R instead, makes more sense to convert and have a spare barrel.

Would be nice to know how much the conversion will cost considering the crazy jump to factory NR configuration price.

so the original barrel is cold hammer forged. How about Dlask's barrel? Accuracy?

We use Green Mountain Barrel Co. blanks made from 41V50 steel. We have been using these for literally decades and have never had an issue with them. As for accuracy they will match any semi-auto .223 barrel out there.

We don't give accuracy 'guarantees', those are more a gimmick than anything else considering the myriad of different factors that go into any one pull of the trigger.

The big question is cost of conversion. The NR version is slated to be minimum $700 more expensive. RDSC staff claim it will be a CZ barrel. What would the price be alternatively to convert a restricted? There is also the process of NRing afterwards.

Our standard barrel swaps are $600.00 + tax and shipping. This means we supply the barrel and re-use the gas block / barrel trunnion from the gun, install, check head space, test fire and then change the status with the RCMP to N/R. You also get to keep the original R barrel.

Nice! Can anyone change the barrel themselves once you convert it to NR since we are getting the original restricted barrel back to us? Do they need special skills and tools?

Let them get hands on with it first. In the past they have sold just barrel on request but its really only worthwhile if you can do the swap yourself.

I've done it with a GSG and USC myself to save on shipping costs there and back.

Theres also the issue of dealing with the CFP to change registration.

The issue may not be the barrel swap, but the attachment of the gas system. If DLask can get a duplicate of the gas system to place on their barrel, swapping by the owner at will should be feasible.

Speaking of the gas system, is the 16 inch "carbine" longer than the 8, 11 and 14 inch "pistols?" If so, I would assume the "carbine" gas system will be used with our 18.5 NR barrels.

Doesn't matter, all of the "RIFLES" will have to be tuned on the gas plug for the longer NR barrels to work properly (doesn't matter what length the barrels are on any of the rifles coming in

you will need the 16 inch gas tube for the 18.6 barrel only cz Usa and cz Europe will not ship to canada due to import rules. been emailing both all last week.

No you do not, the holes on the gas plug can be tuned for a NR barrel on the shorty length rifles. Same thing applies when I did it to my old SAN 553 rifle. Didn't change out the gas system for that

my email to cz Usa "I currently possess a Bren 2 ms with a 14 inch barrel, however im looking to make it a 18.6 in barrel length to meet Canadian legality.

besides getting a barrel made in that length what else will be required? "

the response " You would need a different gas tube. However with you being in Canada, I can’t sell anything to you due to your countries import laws. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask!
