an official Gsg-16 with 9 inch barrel coming soon

Just checked Cabelas, they're "Currently unavailable" online now.

did you buy from them? what do you make of the "currently unavailable"? it wasnt as if they had a line around the block. i think they sold 20 at best online which is a drop in the bucket for suck a large company.

No I haven't bought one yet. I'm waiting to see what they cost at other dealers, I have a suspicion that Cabelas is like $50 more than others will be. If they're not, so be it, but I'm gonna wait to find out. Plus I don't do pre-orders where you have to pay full price up front.

Basically the only way I'm buying from Cabelas is if they're CHEAPER then everyone else. Even if sponsors have em at the same price I can get it cheaper from an out of province dealer that offers free shipping due to taxes. And I'd rather support a smaller business, even if it means $10-20 extra.

I don't know what to make of it. Maybe they sold the whole batch already. Maybe their shipment got delayed and they don't want to deal with a thousand phone calls and emails from people #####ing about when will their gun arrive. I have no idea...

$649 plus Ontario tax 13% is $733 plus the oversized shipping cost of $22 is $753
So the one that went today was cheaper than the factory version minus the warranty, which isn't really a big deal.. just throwing it out there that people realize you can get a factory one for around the same price so they are adjusting accordingly.
Don't see anyone paying 900 or more for a dlask one now that the factory ones are almost available

The Dlask model comes with 2 mags as well. There really isn't a cost saving with the GSG model, you just get less (no threaded barrel, no Lothar barrel, one mag, no spare barrel and fake suppressor)

I have ordered Dlask 9" models in the past and have also ordered a 9" model from Cabelas, just waiting for shipping notification. If I had a choice between the 2 today I'd take a Dlask.

I ordered one when it was available. Cabelas sells a ton of stock and goes thru ATI not Blueline because of the huge quantity that they move. I think that they are probably the biggest seller of GSG 16s in Canada and for the most part are always in stock.
Most of the canadian sellers seem to order their supply once or twice a year..

My thoughts exactly, which is why I jumped on the the dlask one yesterday :)

im not sure about that cos i heard about couple of years ago that ATI is nolonger the distributor and that BL took over and this 9" is not avail in the US so i dont think cabelas came thru the US. so you are saying cabelas is technically a grey market, meaning any warranty claim will has to be sent back to ATI is the US.

Three people in my club all purchased from Cabela's last year and they all were ATI. My original GSG from years ago when the GSG was brand new was a Marstar that came from Blueline.

Interesting point about the 9" model though since it is Canada only if im not mistaken

Warranty from Cabela's is still valid and came with the rifle, not sure where it would need to be mailed as no one's rifle in the club needed warranty.

Didn't Bluelines website go down for like 6 months last year and no one could even call them?

Oversized shipping? I didn't get hit with that when I bought a shotgun from Cabelas. It shipped free with their above-X dollar free shipping coupon code at the time.

ONE selling for $750 doesn't mean that is what the market will bear. the fact the ad is already gone from the EE shows it was probably priced on the low side.

My Cooey was $50. Does that mean ALL cooeys are worth $50? Of course not. I just got a good deal on the one I bought.

Did the dlask one come with a metal charging handle? I think this new one from gsg does.

Is that a big deal? Heard some people broke theirs but not sure if it was a super common problem.

Yes the new ones are advertised with a metal charging handle, the dlask ones have the older style plastic one I assume.

This is one of the reasons I want the new one - don't wanna break it when I do the MP5 style slap to drop the bolt, which I have heard reports of exactly that happening to some people.

If you take a magnet to the original charging handle you'll see that the shaft is steel. HK slap is the culprit here, even real MP5s break their charging handles. HKParts unlimited have a whole page devoted to charging handle replacement lol

Edit, sorry Im wrong on this magnet isnt sticking original is pot metal (you can still blue it, strange?)

Cabelas puts the GSG rifle labelled cardboard box into another plain cardboard box for shipping so that your postman doesnt get a free rifle. Someone has to pay for that lol

i bought one from Irunguns, it was a grey market, it was marked ATI and subsequently bought another from a here, it was BL. luckily both didnt need warranty.

Oversized shipping?

i tested the check-out and saw $7.50 minus the shipping after inputting the shipping code. $7.50 isnt a deal break but i dont want to pay PST.

i like the factory new stock and steel charging handle.

They are now listed as in stock in Abbotsford, Edmonton South, and Winnipeg!

Really getting annoyed with the complete radio silence from all the sponsors here...

They're back online on Cabela's website.

Went to pick mine up. Was $728. Comes with 2 mags

So then you've got one in hand now? Does the stock extend at all? Whats the LOP?

So they are in stock locally, a second shipment in a few more weeks, some new red tape next week, and your waiting to possibly save a few bucks?

Yup. i bought mine at the Cabelas in Abby. When I was there, they were just taking them off the pallet. They had 6 listed in stock in their system as of then. Counter guy said might be more as they unpack the pallet but that was what was in the computer.

Stock does extend. There's a ~2.5inch piece that prevents it from collapsing all the way. When collapse, the LOP is roughly 14 inches. Fully extended is ~ 17.5 inches.

I can get some pictures up later tonight and better measurements if you need. Just making some dinner for my kids.
