I have a suspicion that they will be cheaper at other retailers - Cabelas is currently retailing the standard gsg16 at $550, which is $50 more than Firearms Outlet and Marstar, among others.

Edit - I just checked, and it looks like Cabelas.ca wants full payment up front. No dice from me, I don't play that game...

I want one but im not in any rush. ill def be waiting for a sale

Did you also notice that Cabelas one only comes with 1 mag?

I've seen the "standard" ones advertised with only 1 mag as well. No idea if they ALL come with 2 mags and someone is being dishonest or if more recent shipments only come with 1, someone would have to ask the distributor I guess? The FDE model at Firearms Outlet only comes with 1, the black model with 2. Nordic Marksman has the black one on sale for $449, only 1 magazine there too...

I am in a bit of a rush, I've got my tax return just sitting here and a chunk of it WILL get spent on a gun sooner rather than later... I'm not in enough of a rush to pay full price upfront for a pre-order though. As I said before, I don't play that game...

the Cabela's standard one currently has 2 mags but i regularly see it other places with one mag too. that's typically one way they offer it a bit cheaper

under normal circumstances i would agree with you but not with the first shipment bcos of the pent-up demand since it was held up last oct so i say, dont expect it to go on sale. also whether one or two mag makes no difference. im jumping on the first dealer i have dealt with before.... boom, im there. "take my money" , lol.
 
i just noticed cabelas pre-order says "Purchased by 4 people in the past week!" . thats not very much.

it must be we are not crazy about pre-sale in general.

I'll even buy one from Cabelas if they've got the best price. They're not getting my money unless they're cheaper than everyone else though and that rarely happens.

but you would haveta pay 12% PST & GST if you buy from cabelas and from a dealer outside of BC, they charge you only GST, thats a $45.50 difference.
 
heads up. a second shipment of 1600 is expected here in june so there is no panic to jump on the cabelas bandwagon. hold the line, lol.
