bought my first AND 2nd glock ... maybe some regrets lol

well the glock is a service pistol, can imagine the comp claims if all the cops in the u.s. had to carry a 3 pound gun lol. but the shadow is way superior

In very wide use... because they are dirt-cheap when bought in Contract Lots.

So how's that Glock working out for you?
Pretty sure this gun will out last how ever many rounds you plan on send thru it.

Well the current state of things I'm not going to be able to Aquire enough primers to wear anything out that's for sure! The few hundred rds I have fired, I like how the gun functions... and it hasn't deteriorated further in that area.

It’s a Glock, not a Tangfolio. It’s designed for basically two things, super reliability and good accuracy. In a competition, law enforcement, war or SHTF environment, it’s one of the few pistols you can have at your side and never worry about it’s future performance. If you were expecting something more, you bought the wrong gun.

John Farnam:

Seems a little off topic, but quite interesting.

I have never considered the issue of emergency re-holstering. Most modern handguns being striker fire have no option for decocking, or even a manual safety. This does present a real danger if re-holstering in a hurry. The solution listed of a DAO handgun poses its own problems, that being accuracy. We all know it is significantly more difficult to gain proficiency in accuracy with a DAO. I guess if you envision yourself to be in some crazy "Christian Craighead" scenario, you probably need to get working on your DAO proficiency.

For now, I am happy with my striker fire with no manual safety.

Glocks were designed with 3 goals in mind. Super reliability, ease of training, and low cost.

If any government agency ever gave a damn about accuracy out of a Glock, or any other service pistol, I never heard about it.

Oh boy.. Yeah it's not like Glocks have been known to go through 6 digit round counts without issues or anything.

Huh... hundreds of thousands (maybe millions?) out there and some random guy on the internet finds a flaw in the design that nobody had caught yet - what's the chance??? LOL

Some are getting a bit sensitive...

that picture I have of the frame is showing something that is clearly $hit. Just cause people are unaware/oblivious/npc, and there isn't youtube video on it, doesn't mean it's not happening.... take kci glock mags for example.... complete garbage.

I'm not saying buying this glock has ruined my life, and anyone who drank the glock coolaid is a moron... I'm just saying hey look at this thing, looks like .40 is going to mash the frame into uselessness fairly quickly.

Meh, too much drama, just sell it and get a HK.

Got a particular recommendation? Haha after what came down the bs pipeline today.... maybe some will take concerns long term durability more seriously... I kinda had a feeling when I originally posted this that one of these days we might be stuck with what we got and that's it.

Get an HK USP in .45acp if you have big mitts, if not their 9mm is great. Better hurray though:)

so I finaly bought my first glock...... a used 22gen4 of the EE here from a second owner, unknown history/round count, no description, crappy pictures via email, kinda poor comunications ect.. haha you know the drill. looks like it was an x duty gun, little bit of road rash on the grip, night sight rear, front in the box with a fiber optic replacement currently installed, few extras like a connector and striker spring, and glock extended slide stop... anyway i took everything apart, cleaned all the neglected parts, put the stock connector and firing pin spring back in. overall not disapointed in the deal itself, but more so in what im seeing as a failure of design. Have some pictures of the internals... everything shows minimal use or glocks finish durability lol...... except the frame looks like cabbage where the slide batters it.

Am i expecting too much? is it a waste of ammo/time training with this firearm? Should i acuire a second new or hopefully "like new" gen4 or maybe gen 5 unit for shtf and continue to put rounds through this one....

if anyone has some shots of the gen 5 units frame internals, maybe they have improved this long term reliability situation?

Doubt that this was a former duty pistol. Agencies in Canada are prohibited from selling old duty guns. When duty guns reach the end of their lives, they get ground up into tiny little pieces. :(

Didn't see the "LOL"?? Speaking of sensitive... LOL (again)...

Nope totally over "random" internet guys head.... I didn't even catch you rolling your eyes nearly into the back of your skull.
Don't let the pictures keep you up at night, or inspect your own kit and post pictures of your mythical million mile 40....

That pistol doesn't exhibit signs of very much wear at all. What am I missing? The bits where there are pockets of missing polymer in the molding? I don't think that is significant or a sign of wear.
