CZ Bren 2 Rifle - 14-Inch Barrel

was bren 762.39 military equipped?

Not sure what you mean..... Both calibres of Bren 2 are intended for military and police service. It is not clear why the 14" 5.56mm Bren 2 has a Bayonet Lug, whereas the 14" 7.62x39mm rifle does not. One of life's great mysteries....

Because CZ government only purchases 5.56 in 14 for the big green, no one but civilian order 7.62 in 14.

Interesting to note that the 14" 5.56mm rifle barrel is turned down to a slightly thinner profile forward of the Bayonet Lug. There is no reason for this (that I can think of), other than a very minor weight savings.

^ it is probably to make assembling and installation of the bayonet nut faster and easier, so the assembling worker can quickly slide the bayonet lug down the barrel when working on the jig, and without wearing off the finish.

^^ Great Point! I never would have considered that, but it makes perfect sense.

You really owe it to yourself to indulge in a Bren 2 of your own if you can manage the expense. It is a superbly balanced amalgam of successful designs (Short-Stroke Piston) mated to oft-requested features and ambi controls. It is a really great sporting rifle based on the service rifle of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Ukraine, and numerous Special Military and police units.

Such a shame that it will be banned by the Lieberals this Fall. So typical.

I know what you mean. I’m think about get one. Just don’t know how much borrowed time it’s on.

As it seems from talking to RDSC they don't have them in their possession yet. They are awaiting them to be shipped to them still
Not too sure how that works with starting transfers etc...

Also not too sure if these are NS or IRG imports as the warranty claims to be thru CZ USA

I ordered from BullseyeNorth, and they told me they were supposed to receive them last week, and have heard nothing from North Sylva.

I wonder if NS are dragging their heels to see whether or not an imminent freeze on transfers is in the cards? Those Restricted Bren 2s may never arrive...

I also wonder why NS is not offering the 14" "Rifle" Barrel length option? That seems like quite an oversight if they're bringing in the 8" and 11" "Carbine" Barrel lengths but not the "Rifle" tube. The 16.5" Ba4el is a purely civilian concoction.

Anyone order the restricted version now should know all the risk involve but still want it. When NS say it should arrive in 30 days they should be in transfer already. Why holding it? I want one badly. I wonder I should cancel the NS preorder and get one from Irungun now right away. But I irungun does not have CZ stock right now so I cannot decide.
