Savage Model 340 E 22 Hornet

Hi
I have a 340E in 22 Hornet, 222 Rem, 223 Rem, and 30-30 Win all of them work well are very decent in the accuracy dept.

As far as I am concerned for what they are and what they are made for they are OK

Just my 2 cents worth.

I had a 340e in 22 Hornet several years ago, but an acquaintance wanted it more than I
did, so he has it now. It was about a 1.5 moa rifle, IIRC.
At present I only have one rifle in that configuration, a C.I.L. Model 830. It is chambered
30-30, and will flirt with moa with a couple of loads. Dave.

This was about the 22 HORNET :p  RJ

Hornets can be crappy without the gun being crappy you either got one that shoots or didn’t. 35gr vmax work well but had most luck with traditional hornet bullets on 40 to 45gr. Shot lots of yotes past 200 yards with one.

They are addictive if anything.

Hi Bucky I just got it yesterday - took it apart for a GOOD cleaning and to see about AJUSTING ?? the trigger as its a bit Pull HEAVY ! Play with it today and will be out to the range this week . I did get a Weaver side mount system with it and i have a older Weaver 1.5-3 Scope to mount up . I'm not expecting MOA accuracy out of it nor will it be needed for shots to around 100 yards . RJ

I have 75 Hornady Factory 35 gr VMAX ammo i got at the gun show and i ordered in a pack of Prvi Hornet brass and some Prvi 45 gr Hornet bullets from Henry at Budget - I have Lil Gun - H110 - 2400 - 4227 powders and more so im g.ood there for reloading !

For years a 340 in the auctions was $175, or 400 with that side mount. Now iron sited ones are 》$400. Justinflation is the term I was.trying to remember.
