Bren 2 North Sylva Restricted Imports

Some of the reviews mentioned the 7.62x39 mm custom Bren 2 mags are harder to come by. If the Bren 2 7.62 mags are commonly available, then having Type 81 mags available is not an advantage.

Having STANAG XCR pistol magazines may or may not be factor in the future. We will see. You about be able to use five round magazines regardless.

If there is a AK mag lower or well adapter for the Bren 2 exists, it would be interesting to see if a Canadian company could make a Type 81 lower or adapter that uses the bolt hold open ability of the Type 81 magazine.

I got to handle one today and it is a sweet rifle. Everything seems quality. This model was in 16.5 inch barrel and it seems just right to me - just slightly front heavy which is fine. Aesthetically the rifle looks well balanced and proportioned with the 16.5 inch barrel.

I'm thinking perhaps that the 18.5 incher would be a little too front heavy and look a little too long.

Is it as front heavy as the 18.5 ACR?

If anybody wants I have an order in at DLASK arms for a NR barrel changeover, they can take my spot if you didn’t get in on any of the orders just shoot me a message

The US version of 16.5" has a heavier barrel than the "pistol". I don't know what configuration of 16.5 the NS is getting from the EU though. Common sense said they should be the same.

But one word of caution here - these things are not Colt canada MRR or HK416. Accuracy opens up. The pistol barrel is skinny, the receiver over the barrel trunnion is not the most rigid approach with the two ears sticking out lay out. This means - You want a heavier barrel and..........

and it is best not to change the handguard with after market and, in general, consider the handguard as "something to take on and off' on a regular basis. The 4 torx screws are torqued to 70lb-inch using pneumatic tools. Not torquing these things properly ( without a torque wrench and guess-timating the torque) and evenly will give you trouble.

While the European ( NS version ) handguard that is made up of pieces and pieces are not great for attaching "tactical accessories " , it is a more rigid design in my opinion with the extra 2 torx screws at the 6' of the trunnion.

Want in SPR configuration

Is there any expected benefit of the 18.6" barrel over the 16"? One would think it would tighten up the groups a 'little' bit and stretch it out a little bit more range wise. Thoughts anyone?

Well, it would have more velocity that's for sure. It wouldn't be more accurate, but it would make it easier to aim.
