Norinco Olympia pistol 22LR only 199$

I agree, why not ship the cheap stuff untracked? Even if it's $5, this makes small orders unbearable.

But in defense, you saw the price when you ordered. Did you really only order 1 magazine?
I didn't order any at that price because:
1. They're aftermarket & Triple K mags are hit & miss in quality & function.
2. S&W Model 41 mags can be modified to fit & I have several of those and I know their quality is good.
3. It does come with 2 mags and while I would not mind having a spare or two I simply can't justify that price for a gun that is just going to be a range toy plinker that only cost me $200.

Ordered one on June 7th, got confirmation with reference No. on June 8th, no word since then.

I ordered one from BC on June 3rd. Apparently the transfer had to go to the registrar because the serial number was too similar to some other gun in the registry and they had to make sure they weren't the same? That's what the CFO told me. Got the transfer notice Friday, July 15th so it was nearly a month and a half. Maybe some of the other Olympias have the same problem?

Norinco .22 pistol from Marstar delaying transfer

Hey all,
I just spoke with the Manitoba CFO and had them try and put through a transfer for me of a Norinco .22 pistol I bought from Marstar. It's the one they had on sale for $200. Apparently the serial number for these is really short and causes the system to send it automatically to the registry in Ottawa. It adds time to the approval process. Just an FYI, and whether it's true or not, I don't know, but figured I'd pass it along.
Cheers,
D

What's going on with the serial number of the Norinco Olympia? Is it really a problem in transfer?

Yes. Mine was delayed because the serial number needed extra checking. That's what the CFO in BC told me. I had purchased on June 3rd and got the transfer notice July 15. A couple other pistols I bought after this, June 6th and June 10th, had been approved by late June and early July.

Can you elaborate what is really the problem with the serial number of the Norinco Olympia? Did your BC CFO tell you some more details? I bought mine on June 4, got my ref# from Marstar but nothing yet. This is pretty annoying.

They didn't give me any more info other than it went to the registry because the serial number needed more checking. Someone else posted saying it's because the serial numbers are short? I didn't get any additional info from the CFO other than it was delayed going to the registrar.

Thanks for response. I also saw a post that mentioned a "short" serial number. WTH does it mean? Complete nonsense. I think Marstar should clarify the situation.

^ Well, it's not Rocket Appliances ;) It means a shorter Serial # of just "###X" ..has a hit or 2..as most are going to be '###X ###X XX.
So the shorter # gets flagged when another already Registered firearm..starts with the same 3 or 4 #'s. How many million Registered Firearms' in their system now? Bound to have cross/over happen.

We have receive no indication that the short serial numbers are causing issues. If anyone has questions or concerns, please call or email us.

Ordered one a few weeks ago, and decided to grab another but haven't put the order through yet. Anyone know offhand if Marstar would allow me to combine two separate orders so I don't have to pay shipping twice? Would be a bummer to pay double for shipping when both guns would be likely sitting in the same pile.

They will help ya out. Marstars customer service is one of the best in the business.
On another note I just ordered 2 as well. Figured the price of extra mags it's better just to buy another gun

Just called and talked to Pat, he said no problem. I came to the same conclusion as you. Might as well get two since the mags alone are selling for $40 each. Definitely worth it.

Only 62 left, soon to be 61. I can't believe how fast these have sold since the announcement last week. Crazy.

Looks like more inventory added. These are a great deal.

Ordered on Aug 3rd.. forgive my ignorance, but does the transfer need to be completed before the freeze on the 19th? otherwise SOL?

No, your transfer is underway. It has nothing to to with August 19 freeze on imports for businesses.
