pistol accuracy

I think that for the most part what you see in gun magazines is inadvertantly accurate - most modern pistols will shoot into 3 inches from a rest with good ammunition at 25 yards. It is very likely that you will see more variation from load to load and pistol to pistol than you will see from brand to brand.

3" at 25 yards seems a bit too inaccurate. I would notice this much inaccuracy right away. With good pistol I can shoot 2.5"-3" groups at 20 yards - am I maxing out? The best I have had in my hands so far was Desert Eagle in 9mm. A bit too long trigger pull but super ergonomic, rapid fire is just awesome. Anyways, I think Questar is right, pistol must be accurate or shooter will be quite limited in what he can do with it.

Accuracy is a relative term. A lot semi-auto handgun shooters here have never fired realy accurate guns. But then some guys only want to shoot out to 7 yards.
