Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

Just talked to a friend who owns a shop (non-sponsor). He said he has seen no Onterrible transfers come through this week yet, and it's like progress halted late last week. He doesn't know why.

This is concerning, any additional information appreciated.

Wish we didn't have to piece together information... If anyone is planning to talk to retailers/CFO this week, please sneak a quick question in there on what their observations are for completions...
Arms East said they are seeing some ON completions this week, would be nice if we can ask for some digits.

My take on what is going on?

You are getting exactly what you asked for. All those letters to the ombudsman/ministers/premiere asking for a review, has created a minister's order to review procedure. That will put an immediate stop to the current procedure. Because it is public safety and independent review group will need to be created to conduct the review.

These reviews can take anywhere from a few days to a few months depending on what they find. I guess congratulations on getting what you asked for.

I seriously, seriously doubt that's what's going on.

Who are you talking to, and who has asked for a review?

Are you implying that writing letters was a mistake, and the slow transfer times are the fault of people who request better service?

No. There's a staff shortage and an unprecedented work load. Pair that with summer leave and there are even fewer people there to approve the transfers. The people in that office are just people doing a job. They aren't wrapped up in the politics of the issue.

I hope so. I have 3 in the cue with one that should have been done this week, but so far crickets. This started last week so 100 a day to zero says staff shortage is not the issue. Staff work stoppage seems more real.

No not a mistake, but be aware that they can have an effect that that effect may not be good in the short term (especially in this case). If there is a procedural review it may result in batch transfers to speed the system up. It is the Taoist Farmers Parable, We don't know the consequence or reward until it fully played out
