Glock 48

I had one for a few years. I bought a spare from Clay, just because a spare is nice..

Do it!!!! ; )
Yeah that's why I bought 2 of the Beretta APX-A1. If I'm going to have a nearly non-existent unicorn gun, might as well have a second.

I'd get one of the G48 too just to own but already filled my Glock itch with the G19X. I don't even like Glocks that much LOL.

Well technically it would be the smallest M&P backstrap, but it's like comparing apples and oranges. The G48 is much slimmer.

I read many posts saying the G48 grip is similar to the 1911 grip, and I always cringe. I suppose they are vaguely similar - Except the 1911 is a different grip angle, longer front to back, wider side to side, and has convex sides. Oh, and it has a different trigger position relative to the web of the hand, and doesn't have the Glock hump. But aside from that, yeah I guess they're similar. ;)

I get that there's probably not a better common comparison to be made, but I sure wouldn't say they're similar. Maybe a better comparison for the G48 grip is to the Browning 1911-380 with an arched mainspring housing. But it still feels very different.

Actually I was saying recently on another thread that my Browning 1911/380 is the closest thing to the g48 for grip similarity . They are both single stack . I dressed up my Browning with some beauty wood grips with red highlights and dang , it’s ###y !

Missed a MOS version by like 30 seconds,
Oh well, I guess it's better for my wallet....

I think there was only one in stock as the ad popped up whilst I was on the site...This happened to me a couple weeks ago, except it was a 48 MOS with a Shield RMSc for $1119.00...Needless to say I put it in my cart and checked out as fast as my big ol' snausages would allow!!! Only to be contacted by the owner the next day and told that the ad was a glitch in their system, they didn't actually have the gun/optic combo...DOH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thought I was a hero only to find out I was actually a zero...LOL...No harm, no foul!

People are going nuts over the G48 MOS. For someone new to the world of MOS, if one were to buy a G48 MOS, aside from the optic what plates and adapters would you need? Does the gun not come with mounting hardware? I'm reading that some plates are polymer and some are steel? I've been trying to gather information on this stuff all day but it's hard to find answers all in one place. The fact that the G48 is a narrow single stack pistol, does that limit you to certain optics due to width, or are all micro red dots a standard size?

I think people are going nuts over the G48 period.
If they have to buy only one G48 before the ban, they will tend to go for the MOS version if they can find one.

it's already been discussed in different recent threads,
but like you said, it seems it needs the adapter and takes a narrower choice of optics.

Ah crap. I saw those other threads just after I made that post. Apologies.

I already have one G48 on order, but I don't have an MOS compatible handgun yet...

The MOS 48 is direct milled for an RMS shield optic but can be modified fairly easily to direct attach a holosun 507 k x2 I believe it's called to it. Or... you can buy the 80$ plate and you're good to go with the holosun. The regular optics are too wide... too much over hang
