Transfer times in BC

Bought a P80 lower on July 14th from a dealer, I knew it would probably be a while so I didn’t really pursue it. Emailed them yesterday, said they had no word yet but I could try calling the BC CFO. Called about 5 times this morning on the 9530 extension, got thru, transfer completed.

What would be good if people that are waiting and getting impatient for their restricted transfers to be approved, were to chill out and have a bit more patience and only call in when its been over 6-8 weeks. Let the CFO's office do their job and not clog up phone lines. I have a buddy that is waiting on his first RPAL since November 2021 and he can't through on the phone lines either. He tried 5 times this morning starting at 9:00am and could not get through. He wants to buy a handgun but is getting afraid that he will not have his RPAL in time.

I had a long wait for my renewal on my Rpal I called in a couple times they did not do anything just told me to try again in two weeks in the end it took almost a year no explanation I chalked it up to the pandemic if your buddy is looking for a pistol maybe have a friend buy one then if he gets his Rpal in time he can buy it off them if he does not he can still use it with the friend its getting slim out there ;)

Ok for whatever this is worth I have made a few orders and this is the difference in digits between those orders it look like the wait time will be longer as time passes the jump between june / July and July / August almost doubled. the estimate I heard (not sure how valid it is) was about 100 transfers a day completed by the varies CFO offices, Ill let you do the math :)
once again these numbers are applications not approvals

Number of reg numbers between orders

19,717 #’s June 24 to July 5955### to 5975###

37,510 #’s July 26 to August 26 5977### to 6014###

1,788 #’s July 23 to July 26 5975### to 5977###

I sold one of my handguns late June. I have a reference number but that is it. Buyer was told it might be as much as two months from mid July which is the date he managed to get a reference number. The transfer was done by mail. I sent both sets of transfer papers in by registered mail. I guess patience is a virtue.

I am planning to transfer all my handguns to my son here next week. This will at least keep the guns out of Trudeaus hands for one more generation. The transfers will be done by mail, four to a page. More than a few pages involved.

Take Care

Bob

very wise it will also be like a year just to process too, Trudeau is the kind of guy to dig you up just to get his way

The RCMP have added new features to the My Webservice portal in your RCMP Firearm account you can now do and check the ATT status on that site you can sign in using your bank through the sign in partner feature I believe if the Email on it is the same as your bank it just confirms its you then you need your PAL # date of birth city of birth etc the usual firearm account info they added it between last night and now
