Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

This is infuriating.

I am waiting for 2x pistols dealer to private since June 22.

Sold a restricted private to private 2 weeks ago( both ontario) the transfer was already CFO approved.


That private transfer is definitely an outlier to the data. I am waiting on a private ON to private ON going on five weeks.
Your June 22nd purchases are, based on the extrapolated data, still a ways away.
 
Afternoon all,

Just a bit of info as I think some may be interested. In regards to batch transfers I've emailed the CFO directly and the Ontario Ombudsman and have received responses from both.

The CFO is stating....

"Thank you for your email.

Your transfers are assigned to the CFO for processing.

We are currently processing transfer applications received on June 4, 2022. At this time, we are unable to batch approve transfers. You will be advised via email upon completion of each transfer.

Thank you for your patience as we process the high volume of transfers."


In addition the Ombudsman is asking me to respond to a series of questions...

Questions:

1. Please provide your Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) number?

2. Please provide your full name as it appears on your PAL?

3. Please tell us how many individual transfer requests you have pending with the provincial Chief Firearms Office as of today?

4. Please provide the date(s) that you submitted each pending transfer request(s), if known?

5. Please provide the transfer order number(s) you were provided, if known?

6. Have you complained directly to the Chief Firearms Office of Ontario about delays? If so, please provide some details about the update you were given regarding the status of your pending transfer request?

7. If you have corresponded with the Chief Firearms Office of Ontario directly in writing, please forward the relevant written correspondence, if any, between you and that Office, which may assist us to better understand what issues you have escalated and the response provided?

8. In order for us to make inquiries about your complaint with government organizations, we require your consent to do so. Do you provide your consent for our Office to make inquiries with government about your complaint to us?


I have sent back response to all 8 questions and will update here if I get any further response.

What's this Ombudsman thing?
I never got any questions from them.
Never heard of them.
Transfer from dealer to private, is what i have in progress

When stores receive transfers they use the same reference number system as the consumer system?

Do they have multiple firearms in the same reference number or does each firearm have an individual number?
 
Okay,,, I ordered one May 31'st but wasn't initiated for a week,,,and ordered another before the first transfer started. Seemed to be an error at the store due to the volume at the time,

Ont retailer to Ont private

June 6th--- 59144XX

June 7th--- 59209XX

Nothing yet. I know there are dozens, if not hundreds of people watching this thread waiting on transfers in and around those dates and numbers. I'll post an update when complete. Should be next week hopefully.

Actually you are wrong!!
I believe that they use a business online system, us consumers do not have access to.
And I have received one reference number for multiple pistols. They were the same caliber and the same model.
I think that we are intelligent enough to keep track of the transfer numbers......and answer remedial questions and politics on this thread!!!
