I believe if you follow the link from Badgerdog to milsurp library you will find a posting on how to disassemble and (most importantly) reassemble a ross bolt. Personally, I'm not that brave yet.

It's not difficult if you have a helper and a guide Easy to check if you've done it right or not

On the Ross Mk II, is that item in front of the trigger the safety?

What's that lever on the right side of the action about half way up?

the widget in the trigger gaurd is the mag cutoff....pull it downward to keep the mag from feeding

the lever on the right compresses the follower and spring....makes loading effortless

In front od the safety is the mag cut off. The lever half way up is to depress the harris style mag

Many Ross MkIIs had the firing pin cut off when they were issued as DP rifles.
Could be the reason it will not fire.

How do I go about taking the bolt apart to clean and measure the pin?

THe take down should be the same for the two bolts.

Does any one have the correct length of what the firing pin should be?
