What is YOUR favorite hand gun?

Just got this back today after getting some work done to it.. 19x. Definitely my favorite glock.

That's a tough question, but I think I have to go with the Sig X5 Level 1(Gen1) I got from Harry C a few years back. I like it so much, I actually traded my nickel Python recently for a new X5 Supermatch, as last buy/trade before they shut us down. I figured another X5 was in order.

The X5 L1 is just so nice to shoot, and shoot well. Makes me look better then I am. The quality of the build is superb. Pictured is the X5 L1 and Gold Cup National Match.

I have to update this post. My new favorite is still an X5, but the new Supermatch that I just got. A couple of small details that I really like, one of which is the heavy takedown lever which is just *made* to index my left thumb on. I also really like the flat rather then curved trigger. First gun I've owned with it and I quite like it! I don't know that it shoots any better then the L1, but I sure like the grips (Hogue G10s) and those two small details I mentioned. New favorite!

The sharp eyed will note that I painted the front sight bright orange. I just can't see a black front sight anymore, they all get painted now.

Interesting I didn't know Ruger ever made a 45 win mag cylinder. Always learning new things. With a shorter barrel that Blackhawk would be a handy package in the back country, with the right paperwork or course. You'll probably remember in the 80s, North American Arm made a single action 450 Express, that came with a 45 win mag cylinder.

That's a beauty TC. I had one awhile back and agree it is a phenomenal gun. Curious to see your comparison of the 2 generations. Some guys have suggested the Gen 1 are superior to the Gen 2, but I've had a few of each over the years and they are both exceptional. I appreciate the classic Gen 1 lines and the additional features of the Gen 2 that you noted. With the optic mounted, the Gen 2 is even more of a laser. Although I think they are now making rear sight optic mounts that also work on the Gen 1.

I really couldn't say one is better built then the other. As you say, both are exceptionally well made and accurate. The Supermatch features do make it fit the hand better for me, and we all can agree how important that is. I suspect if I swapped the grips around, that the L1 would feel better in the hand. Small details matter. I do really like that takedown lever on the Supermatch, the designers really nailed it on that.

Now that a lot of us have received our 'final' handguns, (sorry Ontario). Does any one have a new favorite gun? I am pretty happy with my HK45c and USP45. I would have to say that the USP45 is at the top of my list now. Just gotta find a ton of CHEAP .45 to feed it.

Of the guns I have in the past or currently own, it's a toss-up between my single-action Jericho and my HK45.

If I owned one, though, the top spot would go to the Shadow 2. Tried my buddy's and absolutely loved it.... just never got around to buying one before the whole gun ban BS happened.

My favorite to shoot is a Springfield Mil Spec in .45. I bought it used about 15 years ago. The edges were dehorned from factory, it had a commander style hammer and trigger job done to it when I bought it. I swapped a homemade rat tail grip safety onto it, used it for my shade tree gunsmithing attempts, and never looked back.

Despite my modifications it is the best shooting pistol I've ever held. I'd never sell it. That being said, nobody would give me 10 dollars for it after what I've done to it.

I'll give you $10 for it, on the down low. Just meet me in Surrey or at the corner of Jane and Finch.

For me, it has always been the s&w 686. I've sold and bought many of them but keep going back. I really wanted to like plastic wonder 9s, bought many from all the typical brands, and sold them on, returning to nice revolvers.

Honorable mention to Colt SAAs and steel framed CZ 9mm guns based on the cz75.

Gun I regret selling the most is probably a s&w 455 hand ejector triple lock I once owned, or possibly the s&w 460 5" I should have kept.

That question results in a pretty tough process of elimination! I am torn between my SIG X5 All-Around, my STI 5" Single-Stack Tactical M1911A1, and my (comparatively) lowly Walther PDP. And the winner is (Drumroll, please):
