Alberta restricted transfer

For me its been about a 10 working day wait for those. Sometimes a little quicker.

If you got the transfer email, open the PDF file. Print it. Same as the paper that comes in the mail. Go to the range and enjoy your new toy .
 
Has anybody been getting anything approved that was initiated by Switzer's Auctions? They held auctions every second week from the time the ban was announced until last week, there should be a lot of data points out there.

No, it is not. A transfer notification is not the same as a registration certificate.

you need to be a holder of that registration certificate to transport that restricted firearm to the ATT locations. There is a technically you are a holder of a registration certificate since the CFP have it registered to you, but if a cop pulls you over and you can't produce a registration certificate the police have the right to seize the firearm until you can produce a registration certificate for it.

Will that scenario ever happen, unlikely. But do you want to deal with that hassle of retrieving your firearm from the police because you can't produce a registration certificate on demand?

Seizure on failure to produce authorization

117.03 (1) Despite section 117.02, a peace officer who finds

(a) a person in possession of a prohibited firearm, a restricted firearm or a non-restricted firearm who fails, on demand, to produce, for inspection by the peace officer, an authorization or a licence under which the person may lawfully possess the firearm and, in the case of a prohibited firearm or a restricted firearm, a registration certificate for it, or

(b) a person in possession of a prohibited weapon, a restricted weapon, a prohibited device or any prohibited ammunition who fails, on demand, to produce, for inspection by the peace officer, an authorization or a licence under which the person may lawfully possess it,

may seize the firearm, prohibited weapon, restricted weapon, prohibited device or prohibited ammunition unless its possession by the person in the circumstances in which it is found is authorized by any provision of this Part, or the person is under the direct and immediate supervision of another person who may lawfully possess it.

I'm not sure if your transfer notices are the same, but here's the wording in a recent Ontario notice:

CFO Ontario is aligning with the practice of other CFOs regarding Transfer Notices. Effective Immediately Transfer Notifications’ purpose is to take possession of a newly acquired firearm after the transfer is completed, and does not serve as a temporary registration certificate. Subsequent movement of the firearm can only occur after receipt of the registration certificate.

I had two approved yesterday as well, both from June 27th. Looks like we’re almost into July now. I’m curious to see how many days from now it will take for my June 30th to be approved.

What was your reference number (less the last two digits)? This could give us an idea of how many are being approved per day.
 
Successful day today. While driving to Calgary the misses and I got through on the phone and she had one approved, and I got two. Things to note; this morning one was approved naturally. Yesterday I had two approved naturally. The gap between my lower reference number that was approved yesterday and the one that was approved today is 8378 transfers. Seems like a pretty large number for a single day.

She also said one of my pending transfers was still at the registry and couldn’t be approved yet… whatever that means.

My buddy spent all day tuesday to initiate transfer. Got through and had it completed on same call. 5 hours trying to get through to the ABCFO today. Finally got through to have the transfer approved. 2 days but roughly 11 hours on the phone
 
My question is how long everyone has wsited for reg papers?

Im going on 3 weeks, still nothing in my mailbox :/
